In a cast Q&A interview, director Curry Barker confirmed that there was a scene cut from the script/movie where Ian tells Bear that he saw Nikki crying in the break room at Cassell’s Music (their workplace), but it isn’t revealed to the audience as to why. Barker revealed that the real reason why Nikki was crying in the break room is that Ian had just recently told her that he wants to end their casual relationship. Barker also revealed that when Nikki said to Bear that “he is the only person she can talk to” and that “he’s not a complete brick wall”, she was subtly referring to what’s like when she’s trying to interact with Ian. This confirms the validity of how the real Nikki felt that she could actually share more of a connection with Bear(before he made the wish), and that she was hoping Bear could give her that pure tenderness, devotion, and love that she couldn’t get with Ian. #Obsession #ObsessionMovie

I may be reaching a bit here, but I believe there were several subtle hints at the beginning of the movie that suggested that the real Nikki might have been attracted to Bear, despite Sarah’s claim that she has been having secret affairs with Ian. 1. Nikki calls Bear and encourages him to join her and the rest of the friend group for trivia night 2. When they were talking at the bar, there was playful banter, and the chemistry was there 3. Nikki paid for Bear’s piña colada 4. Even when Bear was shy and hesitant to tell Nikki that she bought her a gift from the crystal store, she was still willing to listen to what he had to say 5. Nikki told Bear that he is the only person that will listen whenever she needs someone to talk to 6. Nikki said that when she has a crush on a guy, no one knows 7. Nikki wanted Bear to confess his romantic attraction to her, but got frustrated when he chickened out and just said that they’re “good friends” What do you guys think? Do you agree or disagree?
