Many Kurds had fled to the mountains after the genocide campaigns carried out by Saddam Hussein’s regime against Kurdish villages. The film tells the story of a smart boy nicknamed “Satellite.” He leads a group of children who collect and dismantle landmines in order to survive. The movie was filmed with real Kurdish refugee children, which gives it a painful honesty and strong realism. The film shows the tragedy through the silent pain of children and their strength in facing life. It is a very emotional movie that reminds us of the heavy human cost of wars 💔
