Just spoke to an old fella 40 years in the Taxi Trade. ‘Back then’ he said ‘You went to the first floor at Penton Street where there were six windows for enquiries whatever you wanted. Whether it was a lost badge, application for the Knowledge of London, medical or license issue, you’d be in and out in less than half an hour that’s all..’ You’d be lucky these days if someone TfL Taxi & Private Hire answered the phone 📞 in half hour.
