🌿 This is how the streets of Jerusalem looked during this year’s Palm Sunday procession! Silent, empty of olive and palm branches and the faithful’s cheers, Yet, the Patriarch invites us to welcome the King with hearts pondering the love that never gives up, but freely and faithfully gives of itself, trusting in …”The final word of God, the empty tomb…The Lord who goes before us…leading us toward a peace that is not an illusion, but the fruit of the cross”. As we begin Holy Week, let us learn to not only mourn with Christ but hope with him, “ For the same Jerusalem that rejected the Prince of Peace has also witnessed the empty tomb”.

Pilgrims are slowly returning to the Holy Land. Though their numbers are still small compared to what we were used to, their presence is a sign of hope. The joy on the faces of shop owners and locals says it all — a part of this land’s identity and spirit is coming back. At the Holy Sepulcher, several pilgrims shared that their flights had been on hold since the war. Many of their relatives thought they were “crazy” for coming, but once here, they discovered a different reality — one that the news often fails to show. They spoke of peace, welcome, and gratitude for being able to walk again in the footsteps of faith. One pilgrim, coming for a second time since her first pilgrim in 1995, summed it up simply: “It feels good to be back.”
