My son, Haitham, was born while we were displaced from Rafah, amid shelling and fear. It was a difficult birth during which he suffered a dislocation of his right shoulder and a fracture of the clavicle, which led to damage to the nerves in his right arm. From his very first moment in life, he was unable to move his hand. My son does not know what it means to play with both hands. He cannot lift his arm like other children. He is in need of continuous physical therapy. The cost of physical therapy sessions alone reaches $500 per month… an amount that is completely beyond our means, in a reality where we cannot even afford the price of bread. My son Haitham desperately needs physical therapy sessions to treat the congenital dislocation of his right arm, which he has suffered since birth. On top of that, he also sustained a broken collarbone, which has only exacerbated his pain and daily suffering. Today, I stand helpless before my child's pain.
