My son, Haitham, was born while we were displaced from Rafah, amid shelling and fear. It was a difficult birth during which he suffered a dislocation of his right shoulder and a fracture of the clavicle, which led to damage to the nerves in his right arm. From his very first moment in life, he was unable to move his hand. My son does not know what it means to play with both hands. He cannot lift his arm like other children. He is in need of continuous physical therapy. The cost of physical therapy sessions alone reaches $500 per month… an amount that is completely beyond our means, in a reality where we cannot even afford the price of bread. My son Haitham desperately needs physical therapy sessions to treat the congenital dislocation of his right arm, which he has suffered since birth. On top of that, he also sustained a broken collarbone, which has only exacerbated his pain and daily suffering. Today, I stand helpless before my child's pain. I urgently need $400 to continue his treatment. Every therapy session is a new hope for Haitham that his condition will improve and that he will be able to live a normal life like other children. My son Haitham used to receive physical therapy regularly… three sessions per week, and that was our only hope to see improvement in his hand, which has not moved since his birth But today… everything has stopped. Because we are unable to pay the cost of the treatment, Haitham could not attend his sessions this week… and with that, the treatment has stopped, and hope is slowly fading.
