We spent so much time working on thousands of seemingly insignificant details to make this game good. We thought about how every leaf should move, how leaves affect each other, how light passes through them, how they scatter when the character lands... Sometimes we'd spend days on a single animation. There were nights when getting something to finally work kept us awake, and times when nothing went as planned and we deleted everything and started over in tears. We probably spent over 1.000 hours playing our own game just to make the character feel both responsive and smooth. Then we started letting people play Leafborn for the first time. They didn't care about the leaves. They just said the game felt good. They didn't even notice most of the details we'd worked so hard on... 4 sec later, they started beating up robots and didn't stop until the game was over. All those things we'd spent days working on didn't really matter to them. That's when we realized that we could spend an entire week thinking about a single detail, and the player would experience it for a few seconds and move on. I guess that's one of the hardest parts of game development. Something that matters so much to you can be just a few seconds of someone else's experience.

I made this game and I still can’t stop playing it. You’re 10,000 leaves, tearing robots apart piece by piece, and every fight feels better than the last. It’s honestly addictive. Demo’s live in Steam Next Fest right now. Go play it! 🍃

That first moment I said, "This is it!" I still can't forget the thrill I felt the moment I saw it working on screen for the first time. It was an amazing feeling. What do you think of the progress? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Hello again! Here’s Leafborn! 90 seconds of raw gameplay. No edits, no cuts. What do you think? Would you play this? Note: Picking up Sakura Leaves increases your dmg. That wasn’t very clear in the video. #madewithunity #indiegame

Hey everyone! We've been working on Leafborn for a long time, and it's finally time to show you what we've been up to! It's our first game, made by a team of 3-4 people. The whole thing started with a simple question: what would it feel like to control a character made of thousands of leaves? And somehow, that idea turned into an actual game. It's pretty crazy to see how far we've come, I still can't believe we actually made this. We're joining Steam Next Fest on October 19, so you'll be able to try the demo yourself! We'd love to hear what you think, and don't forget to wishlist Leafborn if you like what you see!

I'm making an action game where you command a living storm of thousands of leaves. - Play as a formless, living swarm of 10,000+ leaves - Discover and transform into new forms - Shred invading machines into scrap It's called Leafborn. Would you play this?

#madewithunity #indiedev
