Watched Duke’s Khaman Maluach work out in Chicago. Fascinating prospect on a unique trajectory from South Sudan. At 7’2 with a 7’7 wingspan, he has the tools to anchor both ends and a joyful personality that lights up a room.

Illinois freshman Keaton Wagler passed his toughest test of the season vs Houston in the Sweet 16. The 19-year-old, 6'6" PG carefully dissected hedges, knifed through contact to touch paint, knocked down a trio of triples, fought for rebounds, and was terrific defensively. He finished with 13 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 stocks while committing just 1 turnover. Stirtz and Iowa up next for a spot in the Final Four.

Joaquim Boumtje-Boumtje has been the catalyst to a dominant USAB squad in the U17 World Cup. The 7-foot, 17-yo possesses a tantalizing mix of size, fluidity, shooting versatility, feel, and perimeter skill. Early No.1 pick favorite for the 2028 NBA Draft.

Jordan Scott has made encouraging strides for Michigan State throughout his freshman season and is an intriguing long-term prospect to monitor. Strong foundation at 19 years old with his length, shooting, feel for the game, and basketball bloodlines. He’s averaging 11.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.0 steals while shooting 11-of-21 from three over the last five games since cracking the starting lineup for Tom Izzo.

South Florida big man Izaiyah Nelson looks a cut above the rest at Portsmouth. Disruptive presence with tools that translate on the margins. Likely a top 45 prospect for me.

BYU’s Egor Demin demanded a large contingent of NBA decision-makers at his BDA Intl Pro Day tonight in Chicago. Few prospects in this Draft class with his blend of length, feel, youth, and baseline athleticism. Shot it well today.

Keaton Wagler is my favorite guard prospect in the 2026 NBA Draft and I believe there’s a pathway for him to be the engine of an NBA team, just as he emerged to be at Illinois. More w/ JP on the @UtahJazz pod:

Chaz Lanier has an awesome story. 5’6 at the beginning of high school, had to work his way up from the freshman team to JV, then Varsity. Didn’t play AAU. Held two D1 offers—North Florida and Campbell. Heads to North Florida, admits he wasn’t ready to play as a freshman, “picked up a little more” as a sophomore, played behind three all-league guys as a junior — saying “I was a role player, play good defense and make 3s. I think I did a good job at that.” Senior Year: “One of the key guys graduated and two others transferred, so that spot to be the guy opened up. I was ready for it. I stayed down for it. I worked and the opportunity presented itself. And I took full advantage of it.” Scored 19.6 PPG on 44% 3PT, making history as the Atlantic Sun’s first player to ever finish a season on 50/40/90 splits with over 100 FGM and 50 3PM. "The main thing for me throughout the process was — stay down and stay ready, because I knew my time was going to come." Now he’s rightfully going through the NBA Draft process and the most coveted guard in the transfer portal. A rare testament of hard work + patience.
