In einer neuen Sendung behauptet das türkische Fernsehen fälschlich, die Gefangenenlager für Herero und Nama in Deutsch-Südwestafrika seien 1907 "aufgrund internationaler Kritik geschlossen" worden. Tatsächlich haben die Deutschen sie freiwillig und aus eigenem Antrieb geschlossen. Und es war 1908, nicht 1907. Hier ab Minute 1:51:

Das linke Recherchekollektiv Forensic Architecture deckt den nächsten deutschen Kolonialskandal auf: Begräbnisse von in Kriegsgefangenschaft verstorbenen Herero folgten nicht deren Ahnentraditionen. Warum? Weil die Längsachsen der Särge 5° zu weit nach Norden zeigen! Kein Mist! 😱 Leider hat Forensic Architecture vergessen, die anderen Bestattungsriten aufzuzählen, welche die Deutschen ignoriert haben dürften. Es ist zum Beispiel nicht davon auszugehen, dass die Verstorbenen in der Mehrzahl ohne Sarg, dafür aber mit durchtrenntem Rückgrat begraben wurden, wie es bei den heidnischen Herero in vorkolonialer Zeit Sitte gewesen war. Das zu erwähnen, wäre dem (zumeist weißen) Publikum wohl schräg vorgekommen. Man präsentiert lieber die gespenstischen Grabhügel, deren Anblick im Europäer Unbehagen und Assoziationen zu einem Massenverbrechen hervorrufen muss, eben weil er anders als der Herero schon lange Zeit an eine Gedenkkultur mit Grabsteinpflege gewohnt ist.
