Uber driver pay is broken. Or is it? I showed an Uber exec a $9.07 offer that worked out to about $9.72/hour after my vehicle costs. She asked me, “Did you take it?” I said no. “Then what’s the problem?” That question sent me down a rabbit hole on rate cards, dynamic pricing, agency, bad offers, transparency, and what “fair pay” actually means.
