In a recent interview, Olivia Wilde cruelly says what so many left-leaning women think when it comes to helping young men today. She suggests boys and men don’t need an encouraging word because the world is made for them. So misguided. So foolish. More women need to wake up.

This video is disturbing to me. From the coining of terms like "mankeeping" to Anne Hathaway’s assertion here that "we're taking advantage of women," there's a troubling trend toward framing caregiving as an unfair, unpaid burden rather than celebrating it’s profound beauty. I don’t think this is the way to go.

Did you know there are eight federal offices of health for women, zero for men? ZERO. Does that seem like fairness and equality to you? Men have health challenges that need to be addressed. We need an office for men’s health. Thank you Newsweek for having me on to discuss!

For decades, we’ve been telling men to “open up.” Now we’re telling men to “shut up” with words like “mankeeping,” suggesting supporting men’s mental health and wellbeing is a burden on women. This word isn’t silly… it’s dangerous, and deserves to be thrown in the trash can.

Listening to Obama address the challenges facing boys and young men today made me very happy because they’re trying. But Democrats must boldly and unapologetically champion boys. It was difficult watching the former president trying to say the right words, walking on eggshells, and inevitably tying the conversation back to girls and women. It’s time to say, without hesitation: 'Our boys and men matter, we love them, and we must address their unique challenges.' No more fear… let’s stand up for them.

Women of childbearing age were excluded from early stages of drug trials not because we “don’t care about women’s health” but to protect them. My friends TheTinMen and James L. Nuzzo, PhD are right… If these women 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 included, the same people complaining that we don’t care about women’s health would be complaining today that we used women as guinea pigs. Lose lose.
