Following today’s homage-paying ceremony, Their Majesties Ògíamẹ̀ Atuwatsé III, CFR, the Olú of Warri, and Olori Atuwatsé III took a walk around the Palace, warmly greeting guests who had gathered to celebrate the 5th Coronation Anniversary. A beautiful moment of connection as the King and Queen mingled with guests and well-wishers, bringing warmth and splendour to a day filled with royal tradition, culture, and celebration.

It is not the fault of the Igbos. They are simply employing their own people, replacing indigenous workers with more Igbos. The highest superintendent in Chevron is an Igbo woman — she is the one doing this. Can you blame her? No. I blame our useless, spineless Itsekiri leaders. Out of 18 graduates recently employed for work on Itsekiri land, 12 are Igbos. The rest are just 2 Yorubas and a few from other tribes. Not a single Itsekiri graduate was employed — in our own land. And some of you still want to blame the Igbos for dominating? No. That is their nature. That is who they are. They look out for one another without apology. You cannot blame them for it. Where are the leaders of Warri Kingdom? Who are the Itsekiri contractors to Chevron? Who negotiated these employment arrangements? Why is this happening under their watch while our graduates are completely shut out? Ilaje and itsekiri graduates protested just last year for employment why were igbos employed? Who let it happen? These are the questions we should be asking. Chevron and these companies do this because they know Itsekiris are not violent people. They know they can take us for granted and walk over us as they like. Would they try this with the Ibibios or the Ijaws? With the Hausa or Fulani? Never. They would not dare. Even the Igbos themselves would never tolerate this in their own land. They would burn the company down before allowing such a thing. But Itsekiris? We are lions without teeth. These companies know it and act with impunity. Where were our leaders when an Igbo woman was put in charge of employment? Did anyone seriously expect her not to fill the place with her own people? Of course she would. So stop blaming the Igbos. The problem is not them. The problem is us — and the silent, weak leaders who have allowed this to happen on Itsekiri land. This is her father, by the way—Collins Eselemo—spreading pure hate in a supposed peace meeting, openly saying they’re ready for war with Itsekiri leaders, “one million Ayiri and one million Ejele, they are ready” 😂 This hatred will never end. And your father isn’t even from Warri—he’s originally from Ndoro Community in Bayelsa State—yet he’s one of the biggest sponsors of ethnic hatred and violence in Warri. You’re out here crying online? Go cry to him instead.

Olori Atuwatsé III, Queen Consort of the Warri Kingdom posted on her official IG page; At the Nigerian Pavilion of the London Design Biennale, we stepped into a future anchored in memory, where heritage spoke through design, and technology carried the rhythm of tradition. It was a privilege to share this moment with His Majesty Ògíamẹ̀ Atuwatsé III CFR, The Olú Of Warri Kingdom. Within Somerset House, among the world's leading designers and thinkers, Nigerian creativity stood with confidence, layered, intentional, and deeply expressive. Titled Hopes and Impediments, the pavilion drew from Lejja's ancient iron-working legacy in Enugu State and reimagined Nigeria's cultural identity through sound, material, and mapping. The Itsekiri story ran through the centre, present with dignity, purpose, and clarity. Allegra Ayida's Paddling into the Past brought soul to form. Her work with the Itsekiri cast iron paddle offered a compelling reflection on memory and place, showing how language, names, and cultural rhythm continue to shape identity. The experience was fully immersive, brought to life through artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and data visualisation. Art met code. Culture meets interface. And from that meeting, something unmistakably African emerged: intelligent, modern, and deeply human. This vision was led by Myles Igwebuike as curator and creator, and produced by Itohan Barlow, founder of Culture Lab Africa. Together, they shaped a powerful cultural statement that resonated far beyond the walls of the exhibition. I'd like to express my gratitude to Victoria Broackes, Angela Bourderye-Munoz, Fiyin Adesanya, Dr. Anino Emuwa, Alero Ogbemi-Barlow, and the Itsekiri guests whose presence gave the moment its weight. Africa stands at the frontier. With memory, voice, and vision, we are shaping the future.

“If Anioma State is created, Asaba will be the capital, and Warri will become the capital of Delta State,” — Godswill Akpabio said at the South-South APC Congress held in Asaba. Me: Honestly, I don’t agree with making Warri the capital of Delta State. That’s not the direction we want. Her success is not only a personal victory but a proud moment for the entire Itsekiri nation. Temisan has once again shown the world the brilliance, determination, intelligence, and excellence that define the Itsekiri people. For generations, Itsekiri women have stood as pillars of strength, leadership, courage, and achievement in every field they enter. There is a reason our women are known as the Lionesses of the Niger Delta not because of words, but because of the results they continue to produce wherever they go. Temisan Jesse Ogbe now joins the long tradition of outstanding Itsekiri women who carry the name of our people with pride and distinction on the global stage. Her achievement will inspire countless young girls across Warri Kingdom to dream bigger, work harder, and believe that they too can stand among the very best in the world.
