🫂Chef Khaled made his delicious yellow rice for the camp today, my friends, and people were very happy when they received their meals because it's a favorite for many. I wanted to tell you we are working daily to distribute food and water for the camp, and we do this even when I do not mention it in my updates. These poor people rely on us to help them survive, and we wish we could do more for them in these cruel and miserable times. It is awful to see the horrific pictures of people living in tents who have nothing to save them from a bomb or a fire. My heart breaks for the animals too, my friends, because they are also helpless and they are suffering terribly in these conditions. There is no safe zone.💔 People from surrounding areas have moved into our neighbourhood again, hoping to find more safety, but will they find it? I'm not so sure. The situation is terrifying. It's terror and horror and even if you have money, there is so little left, the prices on the black market are insane. There isn't much variety either. I pray this living hell will end soon and we get to see another ceasefire. Abood is feeling a bit better today. The virus he contracted is worrying too. So many people are sick. Thankfully they were able to escape unharmed, but they had to leave everything they owned behind. It is heartbreaking and terrifying, my friends. Everyone is tense and scared, and there’s so little resources available that I’m very worried that we are all going to die. The war seems to have returned with greater force and danger than ever before. There’s lots of people that have been displaced into our area, and today we were able to set up a small water distribution point with water from a nearby well, and there are a lot of people who we hope will benefit from it. 🙏❤️‍🩹We set up the kitchen again today, my friends, and today we served two different dishes. 🐈🥰🫂🇵🇸It was wonderful to read your words and feel you celebrate with us, my dear friends. While some strikes continued to fall around us, the army has now begun to withdraw, and 🇵🇸🌿#Gaza City is taking a big sigh of relief. There are many thousands of us still here, and we knew our days were limited if change did not happen. Just this week there were tanks in our streets, and now there are only birds in the sky and peace on the ground. It is a miracle to be alive, my dear friends. Thank you and thank you again, for standing by us and always showing me and my family and my friends your unconditional love and support. I hope that soon aid will be able to flood into the area, and we will be able to return to helping people and the cats and the dogs again. I forgot to mention this yesterday, but we have a new cat living in our shelter. He is a very gentle and loving boy, and he turned up in my house where my cousin Mo took him to the shelter to be safe. I don't know if he belongs to someone, so we will keep him safe and feed him while we ask around to see if he belongs to someone. His addition to our shelter has made my children very happy, and I would be grateful for your support to buy him and the other cats more food. 🐾😸I'm happy to tell you that today I was able to buy more tinned tuna for the cats, and the cost was the lowest it's been in months. This is thanks to the wonderful friends who have continued their support for us, and I want to sincerely thank you all. I can't explain enough how wonderful it feels when I can feed more of the hungry cats I see around. Since the war stopped, many animals have wandered back into our streets, and they are starving and urgently need our help. They are constantly on my mind, especially at night in the cold. They barely have any body fat to keep them warm, and the nights are starting to become unbearably cold. This also makes me think of all the poor people living outside, some in tents and some without, freezing and hungry. We want to help them, my friends, please do not hesitate to donate towards our cause so we can help them and the animals too. 💔🥺I received a call very early this morning, to say that my uncle's house was targeted by tanks and my nephew was painfully injured in his side. We dread these moments, my friends, when you see that a family member is calling and you have to worry what will be on the other side.. I have just received word that his injuries are minor, and hopefully, he will be released from the hospital tomorrow. After trying to process this terrible news this morning, I also received word that our dear friend Aboud has been hospitalised again, due to very poor health. I cannot describe how I am feeling today, my friends. It would mean a lot if you could pray for my nephew and for Aboud to recover, if you'd like to. Things here are quickly deteriorating, and the aggression toward us is escalating very quickly. I do not know how long we will have. I did not know what to do myself, so I did what was familiar, and my cousin and I cooked a rice meal for the camp to make the people there very happy. We will not stop this work until they force us, my dear friends. Please stand by us, in any way you possibly can. I am just a man, pleading with the world as our homeland is crashing down on top of us. I do not want to be another number, I do not want my children to suffer this terror. Last night was miserable, I was in so much pain I could not sleep, the pain in my head and in my body was causing me hallucinations and I felt as though I would die. We are dying faster than at any other point in time. Everything is hard to come by, food, fuel, supplies, it is all becoming rarer every day. Everywhere you look there are families who have fled to our area, living in small tents that do nothing to shelter them from the impact of a bomb, or to save them from the horrors of a fire, or protect them from falling buildings and rubble. It barely even helps against the wind and rain. The #animals are not safe either, no matter where they seek refuge, death seems to be only a short moment away. The strikes seem to happen randomly, every moment feels as though it will be our last. The noises are constant, the explosions and the drones, there is nowhere to escape the constant sounds of death. I'm sorry to bring you such a horrible update my friends, but I feel as though I should tell you how it is. I miss life before the war, where I could tend to my cats and live a normal life, where fear and terror were not all that I experienced. ❤️‍🩹🫂I am feeling better today than I have on the previous days, my friends, but unfortunately, I still feel very tired, and my body and mind are so exhausted by our terrible situation. I did not yet feel well enough to visit the camp today, so the meals were distributed by my cousin, where they distributed a yellow rice dish and also some fruit juice. Things are very miserable here in 💔🇵🇸#Gaza, life is worse than hell itself. The bombings are very intense and frequent, and every day we hear of more people who have died from starvation or lack of medical attention. It is no life at all, my friends. Every day that the borders are closed to aid, there becomes less goods available to us and what's left costs so much it could make you cry, which is why we desperately need more donations if we are to continue to distribute meals for those who will starve without us. 💔I don't know what to do anymore, my friends. We are in a hopeless situation, desperately trying to stay alive and to show the world we want to stay alive. We need more of everything, every kind of aid that exists, and people are dying everywhere from every kind of miserable death you can think of. We need help for the animals, they are starving and suffering terrible diseases and need help too, they did not deserve this miserable life they are subjected to and they are trying to survive, just as we all are. ❤️‍🩹🫂I am feeling better today than I have on the previous days, my friends, but unfortunately, I still feel very tired, and my body and mind are so exhausted by our terrible situation. I did not yet feel well enough to visit the camp today, so the meals were distributed by my cousin, where they distributed a yellow rice dish and also some fruit juice. Things are very miserable here in 💔🇵🇸#Gaza, life is worse than hell itself. The bombings are very intense and frequent, and every day we hear of more people who have died from starvation or lack of medical attention. It is no life at all, my friends. Every day that the borders are closed to aid, there becomes less goods available to us and what's left costs so much it could make you cry, which is why we desperately need more donations if we are to continue to distribute meals for those who will starve without us. 💔I don't know what to do anymore, my friends. We are in a hopeless situation, desperately trying to stay alive and to show the world we want to stay alive. We need more of everything, every kind of aid that exists, and people are dying everywhere from every kind of miserable death you can think of. We need help for the animals, they are starving and suffering terrible diseases and need help too, they did not deserve this miserable life they are subjected to and they are trying to survive, just as we all are. 🫂💚I'm Walid and I love animals, especially #cats.🐈 Before this war, I spent years caring for stray cats in Gaza. I built a shelter for them and took sick cats to the vet. But about a year ago, when the bombs fell, my shelter was partly destroyed, and so many of the cats I cared for were killed. It broke my heart. Now, I’m doing what I can to help the cats who survived this war so far. Some are strays, but as the war continues, more and more are pets who lost their humans, their homes and safety. They roam the streets of North Gaza, hungry and scared, just like so many of us people. I’m also trying to rebuild what’s left of my shelter for the cats who did survive the bombing, but it’s not easy. I need food for the cats in my care and for the ones still out there. During the ceasefire, my friends and I ran the Cruelty-Free Kitchen. We served warm meals to thousands of families. During the ceasefire my friends and I started helping eight families who are living in tents, with no proper shelter or clean water. We also distribute water in our neighbourhood. Every day is a struggle, but we do what we can to share what little we have. Life in 💔#Gaza🇵🇸 is unimaginably hard, but I haven’t given up. I am waiting for it to reopen, and I am getting more anxious and impatient. Will we spend the next Eid in peace? I truly hope so. ❤️‍🩹🙏🫂🆘️ were right yesterday, I have to be happy for the children. Today I started very early, as my friends and I made breakfast well before dawn for the visitors of our kitchen. 🆘️ quite tired, but I am satisfied knowing I made Eid a bit better for several people in this neighbourhood. 🇵🇸🫂I have been waiting a very long time to write these words to you, my dearest, most wonderful friends. For the past 3 hours, I have not heard a single noise from gunfire or explosions, and 🇵🇸🕊🌿#Gaza is experiencing a level of peace we have not felt for so long now. We don't know what the coming days and weeks and months will bring, but this peace is so meaningful and so beautiful. All we can hear is people and birds and it is the greatest gift I could have asked for. I have tears in my eyes as I write to you. Of course, we are anxious that this will not last, but the hope is so strong now, and living and surviving this nightmare seems like it finally could be possible for us. I want to thank you, my friends. Not only did you stand by us and many other people with your kind words and generous donations, but you fought very hard for us to survive and for this day to happen. We have lived through so much for two years, and I personally have seen and witnessed things that will scar my heart forever. Please pray that this could really be it, my friends, that we can finally live in peace. We can begin to recover and process the things we have experienced, and finally think about tomorrow as a real possibility, as something that could really happen for us all. Our conditions will not completely change overnight, unfortunately, and so I am afraid I must ask you to continue your support for us if possible. Prices have risen a lot, and some things are becoming unavailable already. It’s Ramadan, so everyone tries to be cheerful, but it is hard not to be scared about what will happen next. I also wanted to talk about the 🐾#cats, and the state of shock they have lived in since the beginning of the war. Now the violence has ended, they are doing their best to survive, scavenging in the streets for food and I worry about the effect the war had on them. 🥺I am sorry to say that I fear this could be my last time posting to you, my friends. There are strikes around us in every direction, some very close, only a street or so over, and it does not stop. For days now our area has been heavily bombarded, and all of our friends and family are also in danger. We are seeing danger and destruction like never before, worse even than the start of the war, my friends. This building was where the cruelty-free kitchen used to operate in front of, my friends. You will have seen this building countless times over the long time you have supported us, and now it is gone. I am afraid I don't know what to say. I am so scared, as we all are. I wish there was a way out of here.. Hundreds of people are fleeing to our street from the danger, but there is nowhere to go. We are certain to die, my friends. I am so scared I cannot breathe. I'm very happy to tell you that we have welcomed our very first cat into our new shelter, which we could only build thanks to your generous help and support. We also took two of our other cats so there is now three cats living there, my friends. My children are overjoyed to have a new responsibility and now I must buy things that this sweet kitten will need to live in our care. We will need plenty of food and medicine like flea and worm treatments to keep him healthy. Also, I wanted to tell you that this new kitten does not have a name yet. If you have a good name for him, please suggest it to me, my friends. I also wanted to give you the great news that my cousin Mo and his wife have welcomed their newborn son into the world, I am sure he will write to you soon to introduce him to you. Mo is like my brother and I am so very proud and happy to see his family experience this joy. Our children spend a lot of time together and it will be wonderful to have new joy in our lives. I feel very tired and exhausted from my illness, I can hardly think to write to you, my friends. 🫂🕊It was another horrific night, my friends, but I was very pleased to once again see the light of the dawn. The army was in our area, with flares above our homes to help them see through the night. I thought it would truly be our end, my dear friends. Thankfully, praise be to God, they have moved away a little this morning, and I feel a little more able to breathe. Still, the situation in 💔🇵🇸😢#Gaza is terrifying, and death faces us in every direction. We must urgently prepare for any eventuality, so that we can hope to have a chance of survival. Since it is slightly less dangerous, I hope to go and purchase supplies, and hopefully stock up on food for the animals. The future is very uncertain, and I don't know when I'll be able to buy any again. I'm sorry to ask you again and again, my friends, but if you could help us, I would be so grateful. I also wanted to tell you that our dear friend Aboud was taken to the hospital yesterday, with severe stomach pain. I ask you to pray for him, my friends. 🫂🕊It was another horrific night, my friends, but I was very pleased to once again see the light of the dawn. The army was in our area, with flares above our homes to help them see through the night. I thought it would truly be our end, my dear friends. Thankfully, praise be to God, they have moved away a little this morning, and I feel a little more able to breathe. Still, the situation in 💔🇵🇸😢#Gaza is terrifying, and death faces us in every direction. We must urgently prepare for any eventuality, so that we can hope to have a chance of survival. Since it is slightly less dangerous, I hope to go and purchase supplies, and hopefully stock up on food for the animals. The future is very uncertain, and I don't know when I'll be able to buy any again. I'm sorry to ask you again and again, my friends, but if you could help us, I would be so grateful. I also wanted to tell you that our dear friend Aboud was taken to the hospital yesterday, with severe stomach pain. I ask you to pray for him, my friends. Everything here is terrible, and severe stress is affecting us all. You are truly the light of hope that gets us through each of these terrible days. 🤧💔My friends, unfortunately I have become sick again, and I am very tired today. The water distribution for today was run by my big brother Rashad Hua, my daughter Shahad, my son al-Walid and my cousin Mo, who were able to distribute water for the many people who visited. Helping people in this terrible time is a very difficult task, but when we manage to do so it makes us so happy, my friends, because everyone is very miserable in this situation and have lost everything a person can lose. We do our best to help the people living in the nearby camp in whatever way we can. The situation is still terrible, dear friends, everyone is in need of every kind of aid, and the 🐈#cats and #animals are dying without any food or medical care available to help them. I want to do my very best to help them, and to help everyone who is living in the very worst of conditions. Will you help me to do this, dear friends? 💔😭My friends, today a school near me was bombed. The school was turned into a shelter and is called Saladin Refugee Shelter. Part of this school had been destroyed during an earlier invasion. Now it is completely destroyed. The shelter housed many people, from all regions in North🇵🇸 #Gaza.💔 I am very shocked. The sound was absolutely terrifying. This is what we mean when we say there is no safe space in Gaza. I’m devastated. Please pray for the poor civilians, pray for the children in that school, my friends. 💔🚨 🫂😭
