🔥Does Bangladesh has any shame left? Their Prime Minister’s Information Adviser, Zahed Ur Rahman, sits in the Secretariat, microphones in front of him, and announces that Dhaka will buy Chinese J-10CE fighters because “it is now established” that a Chinese J-10 shot down an Indian Rafale in the India-Pakistan war. Established by whom? Pakistan’s ISPR? Beijing’s propaganda mill? Or a Bangladeshi official who has decided 1971 is inconvenient history? The IAF has never officially confirmed that claim. That is not a press conference talking point for a neighbour shopping for the same jet Pakistan used against India. Rafale is a 4.5-generation fighter. Calling a cheaper Chinese single-engine export jet its combat superior because Islamabad said so is not analysis. It is parroting. They looked at Eurofighter and Rafale, flinched at the price, and chose the Chinese option sold as “combat-proven” on the back of Pakistani claims. Cost over capability. Dependency over dignity. This is not a procurement story. It is a signal. West: Pakistan flying Chinese jets. East: Bangladesh lining up the same family of aircraft, plus attack helicopters and UAVs. Same supplier. Same narrative. Same willingness to treat Indian losses as a sales brochure. In 1971 the Indian Army fought so East Pakistan could become Bangladesh. Today an adviser in Dhaka repeats Pakistani kill claims and tells his country the Chinese jet that supposedly beat Rafale is the smart buy. That is not strategic autonomy. That is strategic amnesia, or a calculated tilt. The Indian Army plans for two fronts. This is how a third one is built: cheap Chinese platforms, Pakistani talking points, and a neighbour that pretends it is only “modernising.” Bangladesh thinks it is buying air power. It is buying a leash. And it is advertising which way the leash pulls. India does not need to get emotional. It needs to stay ready, including on the eastern border.
