"Where Is the Youth?" Lasizwe Challenges all CEO’s at the FNB Private (Wealth) Event At FNB’s Private Wealth Series, entrepreneur and media personality Lasizwe Dambuza challenged a room of CEOs, executives and private sector leaders with one question: “Where are the youth in this room?” During a discussion on South Africa’s economic future, Lasizwe questioned what the private sector is doing to intentionally empower the next generation not only through employment, but by investing in the media space, where culture is shaped, ideas are shared and millions of young South Africans are influenced every day. “If we’re serious about building South Africa’s future, why aren’t young people in these rooms? And what is the private sector doing to strengthen the media ecosystem that educates, inspires and creates opportunities for the youth?” His remarks sparked a broader conversation about representation, access and whether South Africa is truly preparing young people to lead or simply expecting them to inherit systems they were never invited to help build.

High Court grants interim relief to Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma in National Dialogue dispute Anti-illegal immigration activist Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma, together with Dr Gordon Lesley Rolls and Mamile Sikhosana, have secured partial court relief in their urgent High Court application against President Cyril Ramaphosa and National Dialogue structures. The applicants argued they were unlawfully excluded as nominated immigration sector representatives without consultation or due process, despite active participation in the National Dialogue since March 2026. During Tuesday's hearing, the parties reached an agreement allowing the currently nominated candidates through recognised sectors to continue participating in the Steering Committee's work until their formal letters of appointment are finalised and issued. The development provides interim stability to the dialogue process while addressing concerns over procedural fairness raised by the applicants. It comes amid ongoing tensions, with Ngobese-Zuma's March and March movement pressing the government on undocumented immigration through weekly protests and public demands. Further details on the full resolution of the application are expected in due course.

Happening Now 🚨 Murder case of Jo-Ann Ntokoto Mabasa postponed again in Alexandra Magistrate's Court The murder trial of 22-year-old Jo-Ann Ntokoto Mabasa, accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend Xichavo Ntsanwisi in Midrand, has been postponed once more today, Friday, 10 July 2026. Mabasa is currently appearing in the Alexandra Magistrate's Court, where the matter has been postponed to 7 September 2026. The defence indicated it intends to call seven witnesses, while the prosecution stated that all dockets are now ready. Mabasa, a Wits law student, remains out on R10,000 bail. She faces a charge of murder following the incident on 22 September 2025, when 31-year-old Xichavo Ntsanwisi was found with a fatal stab wound at a residence in Noordwyk, Midrand. She was arrested shortly afterwards and has pleaded not guilty. The case has seen multiple postponements over recent months, previously delayed for forensic evidence (including DNA and fingerprints), a decision on trial venue by the Director of Public Prosecutions, and other procedural matters. Ntsanwisi's family has previously expressed frustration over the repeated delays. The allegations against Mabasa have not been tested in court, and the upcoming trial is expected to examine the full circumstances of the fatal stabbing.
