Women should not have to be frightened walking with their kids. Workers should not have to put up with being harassed on their way to work. The public should not have to gather evidence for months before action is finally taken. If someone is repeatedly targeting, intimidating, harassing, or frightening people, then we need more than a little area ban and crossed fingers. We need proper intervention. Proper safeguarding. Proper consequences. And proper protection for the public. Because what’s the point of banning someone from one part of town if they can just walk into another area and carry on? This is not about politics. This is about safety. It’s about women, kids, workers, and everyday people being able to walk down the street without being followed, harassed, spat at, or made to feel unsafe. And if people keep telling you the same thing, over and over again, maybe it’s time we start listening before something worse happens

Aggressive begging—yes, I understand many individuals who say they’re homeless are deeply struggling with substance misuse, but do we have to normalise this quality of antisocial behaviour? The aggressive begging and intimidation if people don’t hand over drinks, cigarettes or change? We should call it out as we see it.
