BREAKING: Four men have been arrested and charged over a violent crime spree across several Melbourne suburbs. They're accused of breaking into properties, threatening people with knives, and stealing cars across suburbs last week, including Hampton Park, Beaumaris, Berwick, Lynbrook, Parkdale and Sandringham. 3AW understands one woman confronted balaclava-clad intruders trying to break into her home on Monday, but they threw a glass bowl at her mother's head - and stole her car. Two 18-year olds and two 22-year-olds have been charged with a number of offences.. Police say they are expected to be charged with further offences, and investigations remain ongoing.

Five teens have been arrested after a high-speed police chase across Melbourne’s southeast. The pursuit followed a string of alleged crimes yesterday, including aggravated burglary and attempted home invasions in Brighton East, Hampton, and Brighton. Two stolen cars, a Porsche and an MG, were used in the incidents, with one vehicle allegedly reaching speeds of up to 145km/h on the Monash. Police arrested five males aged between 15 and 18. One charged, the others released pending summons.
