Been seeing a lot of tweets and articles about how I claimed to do my own stunts for ‘The Rajasaab’ but a body double did it as there’s a photo circulating online of a stunt artist who was my stunt double on the film. Firstly, I do action because I really enjoy doing action. I’ve been a sporty girl since a young age and I enjoy physically challenging my body and learning new things. Secondly, there’s always a stunt double on sets even when the actors are doing their own stunts as the action director gets them to do the rehearsals of the shot as they’re the experts, before getting the actor to do a final shot. Or in the case of certain shots when they feel it’s too risky for the actor to do it- they feel it’s better for a professional to execute the shot so you’re not doing anything too risky without knowing how to do it correctly. So here’s some bts of me doing some fun shots & a big hug to my stunt double who taught me how to execute them right :)

Lately 1- I’ve always had an affinity towards existentialist authors and books. I recently re-read The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoevsky after several years and got reminded once again how rare it is for a novel to be intellectually demanding and emotionally transcendent- a testament to Dostoevsky’s incomparable grasp of the human soul, sigh ✨ 2- I love being captured through the female gaze(inserting the obvious fact here of how female photographers & cinematographers are far and few) and love this moody, lovely video @hiyadasari took of me in the van mid shoot one day not too long ago ✨

#Roots Theyyam has been a mesmerizing part of my life since childhood. Visiting my hometown every year, I’ve always been captivated by the vibrant displays of dance, color, and spirituality. The performance isn’t just a spectacle, it’s a living connection to the divine, where performers embody gods and mythological figures. Their towering headgear, intricate makeup, and energetic movements create an atmosphere that feels both otherworldly and sacred. What makes Theyyam special to me is how it transcends mere performance —it’s a ritual that unites the community and tells stories of our ancestors, bravery, and spirituality. It’s a reminder of how culture can evolve yet remain deeply rooted in its core values. Over the years, as I’ve grown older, I’ve come to appreciate not just the grandeur of the performances but also the significance of the ritual itself—the dedication, the preparation, and the sacredness of the process. The devotion of the performers, the meticulous planning, and the countless hours spent perfecting the art form are a testament to the reverence with which it’s held. Beyond the visual beauty, Theyyam represents our identity, history, and faith, reminding me of the timeless nature of tradition. In a world that’s constantly changing, it’s comforting to know that this powerful art form endures, grounding us in our roots and connecting us to something greater ♥️ #theyyam #culture #identity
