The attacks started at 3:30 am at the IRB post near Kondong Lairembi, Moreh while the security men were sleeping. UPDATES: - A security personnel is confirmed dead as of now. - Three IRB personnel also sustained injuries in the attacks. One of the injured persons was identified as Md. "IT IS OFFICIAL NOW" Foreign Involvement Confirmed in #ManipurViolence Manipur's security advisor #KuldiepSingh acknowledges foreign hand in #Moreh Terror Attack on 17 January 2024. Earlier, CM N. Biren Singh expressed suspicions about the role of foreign militants in the ongoing Manipur crisis. Initially, #KuldiepSingh, responsible for law and order in Manipur, stated there was no evidence of foreign involvement. On 18 Jan 2024, #KuldiepSingh reverses stance, admitting to the participation of foreign militants in the Moreh terror attack. The incident involved violent attacks on security forces using heavy artillery, resulting in 2 policemen's deaths and 6 injuries. The alleged attackers are identified as Myanmarese militants. Kuldiep Singh assures the public of additional forces being dispatched to Moreh to address the lawlessness and chaotic situation arising from the attacks. The Suspension of Operations (SoO) Agreement is signed by MHA, Manipur State Government, and 25 Kuki terrorist groups. Major terms of the agreement: "SoO militants" are restricted from public movement with weapons and must reside in designated relief camps. Prohibition of violent and unlawful activities, including extortion. Prevention of the creation of new organizations and fresh recruitments. Monthly stipend: Kuki terrorists receive a monthly stipend funded by taxpayer money. Violations of SoO terms: Violation of Term 1: A surprise inspection on June 3rd revealed only 58% of cadres present. Armed militants were absent from designated camps around Moreh during search operations on November 2nd. Violation of Term 2: Brutal and callous murders of teenagers Linthoingambi and Hemanjit. Callous execution of Chingkheingamba and Nganleiba on the fifth of July. Concerns and demand: Terrorists should not be allowed to hold Indian territory to ransom.
