There is a great deal of misinformation circulating about the revolution in Iran. Much of it is spread by Iranian communists and Western leftists. Contrary to the claim that only a small minority supports Reza Shah, one only has to watch the videos coming out of Iran. Millions are chanting “Javid Shah” — long live the king. Just listen to them. Iran is a multi-ethnic country with a thousand-year tradition of kings and queens. This is part of our culture, just as monarchy is part of British history. After we reclaim our country from the Mullahs, we want a united Iran — all ethnic groups of the Iranian people represented under the Lion and Sun of a constitutional monarchy, and equally represented in a liberal, democratic parliament. #جاويد_شاه‌

I disagree—respectfully but fundamentally. I genuinely admire her courage and moral clarity, especially given the social cost of such a stance. However, this darkness can't be reduced to the Muslim Brotherhood as though it were an external aberration. The Brotherhood isn't an alien mutation; it's an expression of ideas that are already embedded in Islamic doctrine. To pretend otherwise is to treat symptoms while ignoring the disease. One of the most persistent fallacies in Western discourse is the conflation of moderate Muslims with moderate Islam. This confusion is not only intellectually lazy but politically dangerous. Yes, the overwhelming majority of Muslims live peacefully despite, not because of, the foundational texts. Many Muslims are morally better than Muhammad and distance themselves from the more violent and supremacist prescriptions. But it doesn't mean Islam is a peaceful doctrine. Islam is a comprehensive civilizational system—legal, political, and social (Sharia)—explicitly tilted toward expansion and dominance, as mandated in the Quran and Hadiths. As long as this doctrinal core remains unreformed, its most pathological expressions will continue to re-emerge, under different names. Condemning Islamist terror while shielding Islamic doctrine from scrutiny may feel compassionate, but essentially, it is dishonest and protects the very ideology that makes such evil endlessly reproducible.
