BREAKING: General Motors is bending the knee to Donald Trump by announcing massive layoffs in Oshawa. GM took hundreds of millions in subsidies from Ontario taxpayers and made a $10 billion profit in North America last year. Built on the backs of Oshawa workers. In a province as big as Ontario, there’s no reason a transit project like the Eglinton LRT should be on its 15th year of construction with no opening date in sight. I stopped by Little Jamaica to see for myself the real impact of these delays: 300+ businesses closing and a community that was once thriving now struggling. The project is now expected to cost double what was initially projected. And Metrolinx has 118 VPs getting paid an average of $243,000 a year. 118. That’s not a typo. Doug Ford’s government has wasted billions while communities like Little Jamaica bear the cost. The Eglinton LRT has become a case study of what NOT to do if you want to build transit.

Doug Ford mocked students for taking “basket-weaving courses” and blowing OSAP money on “luxury watches and colognes.” A new report shows less than 1% of OSAP funds were misused. Less. Than. 1%. He invented a crisis to cut student aid – then pulled $30 million from people’s pockets to buy himself a luxury private jet. I’ll keep fighting this government until the cuts to OSAP are reversed.

A new report from Ontario's largest healthcare union shows Doug Ford is planning cuts that will eliminate over 10,000 healthcare workers from hospitals. 10,000 nurses, PSWs, and frontline staff – gone. Emergency rooms with 20-hour waits. Patients in hallways. And Doug Ford wants to make it worse by firing more workers. Public healthcare is the safety and security that comes with knowing we'll be looked after no matter what. That's our social contract. 🍁🇨🇦
