Climate change is already affecting our communities. We cannot afford to treat it as a political game. We have responsibility to protect the places we call home and build a safer, better future for the next generation. Net Zero isn’t an ambition we can put on hold. It’s essential. Britain has shown what climate leadership can look like. We must keep moving forward - not let political infighting stand in the way of the progress our communities and our planet depend on. This Labour government will protect our communities and protect our future.

The Conservatives saddled Britain with the most acute housing crisis in living memory. In Southwark, almost 18,000 households are on the housing waiting list. Their failure to get Britain building has sent rents skyrocketing, driven people to homelessness and locked a generation out of home ownership. Labour is committed to building 1.5 million homes over the next five years. We will make the tough decisions needed to get Britain building and secure the homes people so desperately need.
