NEW AD: Rampant waste, fraud, and abuse is ANOTHER tax on hardworking Michiganders. I know because as Attorney General, I charged 55 illegal aliens in a major Medicaid fraud scheme that led to the recovery of more $350+ million in Medicaid fraud that I returned to taxpayers and led to numerous criminal prosecutions and convictions. I did this while cutting my own office staff size by 20% and returning money to taxpayers every year. Now we know today that fraudulent programs like Rx Kids are giving DIRECT cash payments to illegal immigrants, and Whitmer requested $20 million more for that program in her latest budget. Anyone can talk about DOGE-ing waste, fraud, and abuse, but I have actually done it! In my hometown of Livonia, the mayor is pushing to block our Police Department from working with ICE, tying the hands of law enforcement and putting our community at risk. ICE even recently arrested an illegal immigrant tied to a breaking and entering in Livonia, and that is exactly why cooperation matters. Michigan families deserve safe neighborhoods and leaders who put public safety first. Period. As a former homicide prosecutor, Attorney General, and husband to a former ICE agent, I will never tie the hands of law enforcement from doing their jobs.

What’s happening in Minnesota is the result of rampant, unchecked criminal fraud. I spent 13 years as a homicide prosecutor in Wayne County, and 8 years in the AG’s office where I went after waste, fraud, and abuse. I put people in prison for stealing taxpayer funds & rigging elections, and I recovered hundred of millions of dollars in Medicaid fraud. Michigan used to be the place people came to build a better life. My dad was one of them — crossing the Blue Water Bridge in search of opportunity just a generation ago. Now, our kids are falling behind, our jobs are disappearing, and family incomes are stagnating. Ranking near last isn’t who we are. As Governor, I’ll cut the income tax, help small businesses grow, and fix education by focusing on reading, empowering parents, supporting teachers, and making sure every child has the tools to succeed. Gretchen Whitmer is jetting off to Milan to hobnob with elites and see the Olympics on YOUR dime, right after she just proposed a budget that is $30 billion more expensive than it was in her first term. That means it’s costing every Michigander $3,000 more per year… $12,000 for a family of four! It’s a slap in the face of every working Michigander.

For five straight years, Michigan has ranked in the top 10 states people are fleeing. Just next door, Indiana has gained over ONE MILLION new residents in the last two decades. That didn’t happen by accident. It happened because of lower taxes, smarter regulations, and stronger schools. Michigan can turn things around, but only with new leadership and a new direction. This week, we found out that at least 239 non-citizens are on the voter registration records in Macomb County ALONE. Multiply that by Michigan’s 83 counties and you’re talking THOUSANDS statewide. Ballot Harvesting Benson has 1,500 employees and gets $300 million in taxpayer dollars every year… and still can’t protect your vote. When I’m Governor, I’ll make sure everyone’s right to vote is protected, just like I did when I was Attorney General. Let’s make VOTING great again. Let’s make MICHIGAN great again.

I am working for President Trump’s endorsement because he and I share a lot in common. We’re both fighters. We’ve both defeated Democrats statewide in Michigan. Nobody else running can say that. Unlike the other candidates, I didn’t turn my back on the President. Like when John James said he “can’t be trusted” and is “unfit to lead” in 2022. And when the Trump campaign and the RNC needed to find someone to represent them in court on Election Day in 2024, they hired me to fight for the President. I’ll work hand in hand with him to win in 2026 and Make Michigan Great Again!

Your utility bills are higher than they should be because of Gretchen Whitmer’s Green New Scam. She overrode the control of local communities and we all pay more so she can funnel money to Lansing lobbyists and her cronies. Today, Michigan is 48th in the country in 4th grade reading. Meanwhile Mississippi has gone from one of the worst to one of the best states for literacy because they embraced a phonics based approach. Let’s get back to the basics, quit teaching DEI, and start teaching ABCs again. The future of our kids and our state depends on it!

I come from a family of working people, so when I refer to the income tax, I call it a tax on work. Because that’s what it is, a tax on the hard work that you do every day, How will we eliminate it? It starts with slashing the wasteful spending of the Whitmer administration. We can pay to eliminate the tax on work entirely (TWICE) just from the spending increases of her administration. When we get rid of the tax on work, we’ll put more money in your pocket and unleash prosperity again in Michigan.
