Moeller advanced to their 5th straight Regional Final with a dominating 8-0 win over Grove City. Nathan McDowell did what he did best: deal. Nate went his 4th straight complete game and 4th straight game with at least 9 K’s, going all 7 innings. Nate only allowed 1 walk and 6 hits as well. Teagan Cumberland led the way, going 2-3 with 2 RBIs. Reggie Watson III also had a multi-hit game, also going 2-3 with an RBI. Donovan Glosser and Matt Ponatoski had the other two multi-RBI games, both going 1-3 with 2 RBIs.

Moeller advanced to their 6th straight District Final after a 12-0 no hit victory over Middletown. Nathan McDowell now stands alone, becoming the only pitcher to throw 3 no hitters in a career in program history. Through the 5 innings, Nate struck out 13 of his 16 batters faced, only needing 60 pitches. Nate threw 76.7% of his pitches as strikes, 88.2% of his first pitches being strikes, and a 73.5% whiff percentage on his batters. The Moeller offense was dominant as well. Of the 10 hits by the Crusaders, 8 of them were extra bases. Conner Cuozzo (2-3, RBI, 2 2Bs) and Adam Maybury (2-4, RBI, 2B, 3B) both led the way with multi extra-base hit games. Connor also had a multi hit game, going 2-2, with 2 RBIs and a double.

Highlights brought to you by Rozzi Fireworks. Moeller started off their postseason run with a bang, as they scored a program record 25 runs in a 25-0 win over Western Hills. The offense exploded for 18 hits, including 6 extra base hits, which included 3 home runs. Matt Ponatoski led the team with 6 RBIs, one off from tying the program record in a game, going 3-3 with 2 home runs and a double. Might be the only Crusader in history to hit two home runs in a single inning (can’t verify). Jackson Porta also had 3 hits, going 3-3 himself. He also added on 3 RBIs on the day. Will Schirmer went 3-5, also registering 3 RBIs, an inside the park home run, and got a triple. Connor_Fuhrer threw a complete game 1 hitter. Connor didn’t walk a single batter for the second time this season, and he struck out 7, which ties for his career high.

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Luke Pappano This is Luke’s 3rd year on varsity where he has been a dominant two way force. Luke has an incredible 1.382 ERA in his 11 appearances on the mound, a 9-0 record, and has hit 0.384 across 151 AB’s. This includes hitting 0.431 this season, which is 2nd in the GCL.
