If Kamala Harris wins, we’ll need a Democratic Congress to certify the election. Speaker Mike Johnson, the legal architect of the effort to overturn the last presidential election, won’t commit to certifying a Harris victory. So we must defeat Mike Lawler to take back the House.

When Mike Lawler thinks the cameras are off, he says what he really feels. While campaigning for Donald Trump and JD Vance recently, Lawler said that Democrats “hate America.” I am appalled that Lawler has such contempt for the hundreds of thousands of Democrats in the 17th District. He also said that Trump, who tried to overturn the 2020 election and pledged to pardon the insurrectionists who attacked law enforcement officers, “loves this country.” The Lower Hudson Valley deserves better.

There are many takes about what caused Tuesday’s red wave. Several are bad. As someone in a district Biden carried by 10 points in 2020 and that Trump may have won this week, I can tell you the Democratic Party’s brand is in shambles in the suburbs and a big reason is the border.

Check out my first TV ad of the cycle ⤵️ Growing up, I watched my grandma work past the age of retirement so she could afford health care. Politicians like Mike Lawler don't understand. Lawler opposed lower prescription drug costs for seniors, and would allow insurance companies to discriminate against New Yorkers with pre-existing conditions like cancer and asthma.

I served on the House Ethics Committee. There is ample precedent for releasing Committee reports on the conduct of Members even after they’ve left office. I can’t think of a document in recent history more important to American government than the report on Matt Gaetz.
