ℹ️ With War Sails, Calradia’s world map extends further to the north. The Nordvyg proper (marked by rugged coasts, thick forests, and icy winters) sets the stage for the new Nord faction. To the west and across the sea, we find a recently colonized Island of Beinland - the land of bones. And finally, the Jumne river area is located to the east of Nordvyg, where mysterious burial pits left by some long-forgotten people lie scattered along the riverbanks. The river runs south, eventually reaching Khuzait lands, allowing Nords to raid or trade with nearby factions. Meet the Nordic Huscarls, the Nord’s ultimate tier 6 infantry! Armed for any fight, they wield either broad, runed swords or heavy axes with wide iron heads, their edges made to shatter shields. At their side hang throwing axes - small, engraved, and perfectly balanced to strike before the clash. Each Huscarl also carries a long spear with a sharpened steel tip, ready to hold the line or push forward in formation. Their Armor is as imposing as their arsenal. ⚓️ War Sails brings more than naval combat; it reshapes Calradia’s geography. Besides the new northern regions, which we discussed in the last video, the world map received many changes to support naval travel. Several rivers have been widened to support inland navigation, integrating previously isolated regions into the maritime system. Bridge placements were adjusted to preserve key overland routes, while two major land crossings between Quyaz and Ortysia, and between Omor and Varnovapol, were removed to allow for travel into two massive bodies of water. A number of towns were also relocated closer to rivers or coasts, ensuring they have access to Calradia’s growing web of maritime trade. But this also brings the tides of war closer, with rival ports now just a sail’s journey away. This means you will now need to plan differently, using the waterways not just to escape enemies but to strike deep into their heartlands. #mountandblade #bannerlord #warsails

How will a naval blockade actually work? War Sails Q&A Time! 📝 When a force besieges a coastal settlement and has ships available, a blockade is automatically formed once the siege camp is established. Maintaining a blockade introduces new risks and decisions. Enemy naval parties may attempt to aid the defenders - the besieging player must then choose to engage in a naval battle or withdraw. Victory keeps the blockade intact; defeat lifts both the blockade and the siege; withdrawing preserves the land siege, but allows enemies to reinforce the town by water. The player can also attempt to reinforce a besieged town from the water - either by breaking through the blockade at the cost of some troops or by attacking the fleet directly to lift it. #mountandblade #bannerlord #warsails
