Sammy Gyamfi’s entire press conference boils down to this: Dear Ghanaians, yes…. we (the NDC government) have recorded losses of about 22 billion cedis in our gold businesses. But Goldbod is not to blame, because the IMF report did not specifically name Goldbod as the source of those losses. Think about it: if I take a loan from a bank to do business and end up making losses while buying and selling, according to Sammy Gyamfi I should blame the bank for giving me the money in the first place. I honestly thought this press conference was meant to deny or debunk the reports of such massive losses. Instead, Sammy Gyamfi openly admits that the losses are real, while trying to clear himself and Goldbod of any responsibility. It’s clear, let’s push the blame onto the Bank of Ghana. Time wasted k3k3.
