It can take a lot to get me to come outside these days… but Jesse Collins may be one of the few who can. I had a wonderful experience working with him and his team on the Grammy tribute to our legends, Roberta Flack and D’Angelo. When he asked me to do this, I had to say yes. Before I say anything else, forgive me for being late with this post. I’m in Morocco today after a performance in the Canary Islands last night and have been fully occupied, but I could not let more time pass without expressing my gratitude. To Jesse Collins, BET, and the entire team, thank you for creating a space for artistry, legacy, love, and celebration. And now… To the Kings and Queens who celebrated and serenaded me at yesterday’s tribute: Wyclef Jean The War and Treaty — Tanya Blount Trotter & Michael Trotter Jr. Doechii SZA Tems Tierra Whack Selah Doja Cat Nas YG Marley Lizzo Rapsody Zion Marley Alexia Jayy Queen Latifah Common Adam Blackstone & Band Eric Gales The MLH Band I am deeply honored. THANK YOU. Each of you is remarkable. You represent far more than yourselves. You carry the hopes of families, the strength of communities, and the stories of generations. Your gifts are rooted in legacy, and your presence was deeply felt. Thank you for acknowledging me. Thank you for celebrating me. The love I felt in that room is something I will carry with me for a very long time. My desire is that each of you experiences that same love returned to you abundantly by all the people, families, and communities that you pour into, and that you feel as celebrated, as appreciated, and as cherished as you made me feel. To God be the glory. Always.

Whitney Houston once said to me that Roberta Flack’s voice was one of the purest voices she’d ever heard. I grew up scouring the records my Parents collected. Mrs. Flack was one of their favorites and quite instantly became one of mine as soon as I was exposed to her. She looked cool and intelligent, gentle and yet militant. The songs she recorded from ‘Compared To What’ to ‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’ to her version of ‘Ballad Of The Sad Young Men’ fascinated me with their beauty and sophistication. Mrs. Flack was an artist, a singer-songwriter, a pianist and composer who moved me and showed me through her own creative choices and standards what else was possible within the idiom of Soul. Killing Me Softly, a song Mrs. Flack didn’t write, but made hugely popular became the song that catapulted myself and the Fugees into household phenomena. We wanted to honor the beauty and brilliance of this song and her performance of it to our generation. I will forever be grateful for the sensitivity and delicate power of her Love and Artistry. Rest in Grace Beloved One. 🌹

Thank you to Burna Boy and team for opening up their set on Day 2 of Wireless, we truly appreciate it. Let us remember and never forget that we are a massive people FULL of gifts and talents. Brought my beautiful daughter Sara Marley with me to Johannesburg, South Africa! She visited the McBain Charles Primary School where she donated school supplies and school shoes to the 1st and 2nd grade classes. Before she left she read to and danced with the students who also sang songs for her. It looked like an all around special time! Sara also visited with some of the older students who are learning a trade, in this case sewing and garment construction and actually make the school uniforms! Sara left inspired, fired-up, and determined to start her own non-profit org in order to spread more sunshine wherever she can! Thank you to the faculty and students at the McBain Charles Primary School for hosting Sara! Sawubonaaaaa 🙋🏾♀️ to all of the students and staff!!! Thank you to Team Chayil and the Chayil Foundation and to our own Lynette Brown-Jones for making the connection! ☺️🔥❤️🔥♥️👏🏾🤗 🤩🇿🇦

Edmonton — thank you for your patience, your understanding, and your grace. You were truly a class act. We made multiple announcements regarding the unexpected production delays, and I’ve attached a letter from the trucking company that transported our gear explaining why the truck did not arrive on time. Unfortunately, that delay affected both our start time and elements of our production. That said, our production team moved fast and fearlessly to make sure the show still went on. Despite the circumstances, the energy in the room never wavered — and that’s because of you. Edmonton, thank you for staying with us, for engaging with us, and for showing nothing but love from start to finish. Your support did not go unnoticed and will not be forgotten. Love and respect — always.

A BIG thank you to the team at Dover Street Market Paris and the beautiful communauté Parisienne (and beyond) who came out to the pop-up. We were surrounded by love and affection and a stunning soundtrack with tunes provided by Arman! I ‘hobbled’ in almost tripping in 6 inch Kiki platform boots across cobblestone terrain lol. After quickly being escorted inside I took my seat, situated myself (personal fan in hand), markers to the right. The queue formed and the music played, each guest entered with a bright smile and a heartwarming message about the lasting power of music and art. We spoke, I signed, we took selfies, we laughed, shed a few tears and collectively experienced how distance means very little when we have space and context to connect with each other. The setting was stylish, serene and welcoming and the staff was attentive and hugely accommodating. Arman ‘killt’ the sounds and the vibe was lovely. J’aime Paris! Un très grand merci! 🫶🏾🤩✨🔥♥️👏🏾 Exclusive Paris designs still available online! 🎶: Dooyo (Dur-Dur Band) Photos + Video Footage: Irma Mchedlishvili --------- Edited by: Rachael Silvester --------- Photos only: Oriane Robaldo --------- Video Footage only: Harrison Garret

Massey Hall is one of those spaces you feel the second you step inside. Beautiful. Historic. Legendary. The crowd was alive, fully engaged and the night moved on a powerful, visceral frequency that everyone felt. Everything aligned: the energy, the connection, the music, and the love Toronto reflected was unforgettable! I hold deep respect for rooms with this kind of history, and even deeper respect for the people who fill them. Always grateful when the legend Wyclef Jean shows up and kills the performance… “911” with the band was absolutely insane. Endless gratitude to my firstborn Zion Marley, bringing his regal sound and vibration, and sharing the moment with his cousin Solomon, aka King Cruff. Thank you to everyone who came out, showed love, and shared the night with us. This was our historical moment, Toronto. 🤌🏾❤️🔥 Love and respect Toronto and Massey Hall 🫶🏾
