This is the moment. First Nations and Indigenous peoples across Canada must stand together alongside the Chiefs of Alberta to confront a dangerous political drift that threatens this country. Separatist-aligned Conservative MLAs and MPs do not speak for Alberta, and they certainly do not speak for Indigenous Nations whose lands, treaties, and futures are tied to a united Canada. Calls for separation, foreign influence, and backroom agendas are not “free speech” when they undermine treaty relationships, national sovereignty, and constitutional order.
