There's a fan theory circulating online that the only Earth where Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark truly becomes a hero is Earth-616. In most other universes, he eventually turns into a villain in one form or another. This idea gains weight in Infinity War, when Doctor Strange looks through millions of possible futures and finds only one where they win -one where Tony doesn't become corrupted by his own power. Tony's sacrifice may have saved Earth-616 in the moment, but it raises a larger question: What If Tony Stark himself was the anchor being of 616?
