An Indian woman living in South Korea has shared her experience of attending a Korean wedding for the first time, where she encountered a wedding custom that surprised her. She attended her Korean labmate’s wedding with two senior colleagues from India and Sri Lanka. After the ceremony, the group headed towards the lunch hall but were stopped by staff and asked to show a token. They later learnt that guests are expected to hand over their gift or money envelope at a reception counter before entering the lunch hall. In return, they receive a token that allows them to enter the dining area. The woman said the practice felt very different from what she is used to seeing at weddings in India, where there is no similar system linking the wedding gift to a token for entry into the dining area.

Delhi Customs intercepted a Dubai-bound passenger on August 17, 2026, and recovered USD 15,500 (around Rs 13 lakh) concealed in his checked-in baggage, acting on specific information from the DRI. According to Delhi Customs, the foreign currency was hidden in a fake bottom of the baggage and inside the cap of a casserole. A case has been booked, and further investigation is under way.

The Maharashtra FDA has suspended the food licence of Blinkit’s Malad West dark store after an inspection found heavy cockroach infestation, expired food stock and multiple hygiene violations. The action applies only to the inspected Malad facility and does not affect Blinkit’s overall food operations. The licence will remain suspended until further orders, barring the store from selling or distributing food from the premises.
