“On Sept 23, 2024, NORAD aircraft flew a safe and disciplined intercept of Russian Military Aircraft in the Alaska ADIZ. The conduct of one Russian Su-35 was unsafe, unprofessional, and endangered all – not what you’d see in a professional air force.” – Gen. Gregory Guillot

If you’ve been following our page for a while, you already know one of our key regions: the Continental U.S. NORAD Region (CONR). Since Sept. 11, 2001, CONR has served as the lead for Operation Noble Eagle — the ongoing mission to defend the continental United States from airborne threats originating both inside and outside U.S. borders. For updates on Temporary Flight Restriction violations, air defense operations, and some of the best jet footage out there, be sure to follow 1st AF/America's AOC.

NORAD recently executed Exercise AMALGAM MUTE, a no‑notice, live‑fly training event - this time over the Alaskan region - designed to validate rapid response capabilities across the command. Check out the speed, precision and professionalism with which Alaskan NORAD Region assets quickly launched and conducted a successful intercept of an airborne track of interest as simulated by #USAF C-21 aircraft. No notice. No hesitation. Always ready. #WeHaveTheWatch

Pilots: Check your NOTAMs before takeoff to avoid violating restricted airspace and help keep our skies safe. Note: Pilots and the public may also spot U.S. Army ground defense assets in the area, operating under the Continental U.S. NORAD Region (1st AF/America's AOC) as part of our routine, layered defense.
