Iran holds impressive positions in key high-tech fields, a few examples: · 4th globally in nanotechnology · 7th in biotechnology · 11th in aerospace · 4th in the number of engineering graduates: after US, China and India. PS: By comparison, China has 17% of the world's population and produces 35% of global science which means Iran and China perform at a similar level relative to their population sizes.
