Crowds have turned out to the funeral of a woman in Carlow, following a social media appeal made by an undertaker. Mary Regan died in the care of Hillview Nursing Home last Friday, and had no next of kin. Funeral Director Rory Healy asked people to turn out for her funeral mass, so she ‘gets a farewell from her adopted town of Carlow by the people of Carlow’. Askea Church was packed this morning, with people of all ages showing up to lend their support🤍

E-scooters will be given the same status as cars and motorbikes, being branded as an 'MPV, a Motorised Propelled Vehicle. 🛴Under new legislation, underlined by Road Safety Minister Seán Canney, e-scooters will need to be registered and taxed. On top of this, it will also become a requirement for e-scooter users to wear a helmet and hi-vis. 🔞From next month, e-scooters will be banned for those under the age of 18. 🏍️In relation to scramblers, the fee for the return of the vehicle after it has been seized will be doubled. If the vehicle weighs under 3,500kg, the fine will increase from €125 to €250, with €70 being added for each day it is held. If the vehicle weighs more than 3,500kg, the fine will rise from €250 to €500, with €100 being added for each additional day it’s held.
