Running for office as a mom of two toddlers hasn’t been easy. Honestly, there have been so many moments kicking myself for being late to preschool drop off, or trying to hold them while also calling voters at the same time. But in many ways, it’s the same struggle every parent faces—especially working parents in my generation. Being stretched thin paying for daycare, which for two kids, is the same price as our mortgage. Needing to take them to the doctor but not knowing whether your premiums will triple. Dropping them off at school and just praying they come home safe. My kids are my heart—the joy of my life. Whenever I question why I’m running this race, or whether I can do it, I look at them and know the answer. I’m running for their future. And I want every stressed out, overburdened parent out there to know: I’m fighting for your kids, too. And for you. 🫶🏽👶🏽
