Speaking further on the planned NYSC reform, the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Policy Coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman, revealed that the NYSC orientation camp would be restructured into three phases: - The first two weeks will focus on civic responsibility, national values, and leadership development. - The next two weeks will cover career mapping, financial literacy, business planning, and access to finance. - The final two weeks will provide specialised training based on each corps member’s chosen career stream. Under the new framework, corps members will select one of the newly created 11 specialised streams upon registration and will receive specialised training throughout the orientation programme in preparation for future employment and national service. The 11 specialised streams are: Agric Corps, Medical Corps, Education Corps, Tech and Digital Corps, Legal Corps, Public Service Corps, Infrastructure Corps, Green Corps, Enterprise Corps, Creative Economy Corps, and Paramilitary and Security Corps. She added that the specialised streams will equip graduates with practical skills tailored to their academic backgrounds, career interests, and the country’s workforce needs. Usman noted that the reforms also review deployment procedures, including how corps members are posted across states, with greater consideration for prevailing security realities.

I commend the move by President Tinubu to decentralise policing, but we should also decentralise mineral rights. That's what we call resource control. The president has done this (state police), and it has my support, but my prescription would have been to decentralise it to the zonal levels first. Then, we amend the constitution to give governors power to appoint the commissioners of police working with the Police Service Commission (PSC), and then putting them to the Houses of Assembly for screening and oversight. - NDC National Leader Senator Seriake Dickson spoke on state police creation

Seun: Peter Obi said he's suspicious of the timing of state police. He said you can't amend the constitution and give powers to the governors when there's an upcoming election. Seriake Dickson: He's right. President Tinubu should slow down the process of state police creation. Attention should be focused on fighting terrorism and insecurity. The business of implementing state police should be left for the next government.

Senator Aduda, you and I were together in the 8th Senate, and you never invited me to commission one single project despite the fact that you were a principal officer in the senate and part of the then government, but I saw you beaming with a smile today because the people who elected you then as a senator are very happy that you've identified with Mr project (Wike). I won't be surprised if they decide to send you back to the Senate in the next election. - Senate President Akpabio tells ex-FCT Senator Philip Aduda at the commissioning of a road project in Abuja
