Kimani Ichung’wah now says Rigathi Gachagua Gachagua was involved in planning the attack on the Kenyatta farm in Ruiru. But there is an awkward piece of history that keeps resurfacing. Ichung’wah has repeatedly claimed that he sat with Gachagua at the Annex on Harambee Avenue, where he allegedly witnessed plans to attack the Kenyatta farm. He says Gachagua has never responded because, in his view, he knows the allegations are true. Yet video footage from the period shows Kimani Ichung’wah himself threatening that Uhuru Kenyatta’s farm would be invaded.

Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot: "We know what you, Gachagua, did in Ol Kalou. It's not that UDA didn't have supporters there, but you allegedly used goons and had them mark the doors of UDA supporters with an 'X', intimidating people and leaving them too afraid to go out and vote." 😂

How can you hold a referendum to split something that doesn't legally exist? Why don't people read the Constitution? "Mt. Kenya" is not a constitutional or administrative unit. It is a cultural and historical identity a community of people with a shared heritage, language, and sense of belonging. You cannot partition an identity through a referendum. The argument that "Mt. Kenya West" has never supported "Mt. Kenya East" also falls apart when you look at history. During President Mwai Kibaki's administration, several of the most influential Cabinet positions were held by leaders from what is today referred to as Mt. Kenya East, including David Mwiraria, Kiraitu Murungi, Njeru Ndwiga, and Martha Karua. Their appointments did not trigger claims that one side of Mt. Kenya was dominating the other. RÛKÛ GK

Tell me how you want Mt. Kenya votes, but you don't want Mt. Kenya people. You want their votes, but not their voice. You want their numbers at the ballot, but not their presence at the table. You want the mountain when it is time to count votes, then suddenly remember “national politics” when it is time to share power.
