You’re welcome, Sri Lanka. 🇱🇰 🇵🇰 ♥️ Sri Lanka stood by us in difficult times and in the words of Kumar Sangakkara “There are some friendships you can’t abandon.” Sri lankan cricket team continued visiting Pakistan despite security challenges and even after the Lahore attack which helped rebuild international confidence in our safety. Look how Sangakkara who was hit by shrapnel reflected on how the team endured what Pakistani civilians and soldiers face daily. It shows how sympathetic their people are towards us.♥️ With a Free Trade Agreement since the 2000s we hope this friendship only grows deeper.

⚠️ Pakistan has finally closed Afghan Transit Trade, which used to cost us ~Rs 1 trillion yearly. That trade was vital for the Taliban revenue, supplies, tariffs and logistics that funded their rule and forces. This move is a deadly strike at their cash, supply lines and economic grip it will further weaken an already fragile Taliban position and force them to see that Pakistan was their main lifeline.
