BREAKING NEWS: Police Raids Accord Senatorial Candidate for Osun East, Hon. IBK’s House at Osogbo and Ilesa on Fadahunsi's Order Tension heightened in Osun State on Wednesday after operatives of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) from Abuja reportedly stormed the Osogbo and Ilesa residences of the Accord Party's Osun East Senatorial candidate, Hon. Ibukun Ishola Fadipe (IBK). According to party sources, the operation was allegedly carried out on the instructions of Senator Francis Fadahunsi in an attempt to arrest the Accord candidate and intimidate him ahead of the election. The development comes days after Governor Ademola Adeleke called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to stop what he described as persecution, selective arrests, intimidation and violence against Accord members and supporters, warning against alleged plans to manipulate the forthcoming election. Reacting to the raid, Accord maintained that no amount of intimidation or harassment would change the resolve of the people, insisting that the alleged police action would not stop the party's support across Osun State. As of the time of filing this report, the Nigeria Police Force had not issued any official statement on the operation or responded to the allegations.

Governor Ademola Adeleke has hailed the Federal High Court, Osogbo ruling dismissing the tenure elongation suit filed by the Osun APC Yes/No chairmen, saying it affirms that their tenure expired in October 2025 and that they lack legal standing to continue occupying council secretariats. He consequently called on the police to withdraw security support for the sacked officials, urged the immediate restoration of duly elected local government chairmen, and directed UBA to safeguard local government funds and recognize lawful account signatories. On the Federal High Court, Abuja judgment deregistering some political parties, Governor Adeleke described the ruling as contrary to the subsisting Court of Appeal order staying proceedings on the matter until October, noting that legal steps have been taken to challenge it. He assured Osun residents that Accord will remain on the ballot for the August 15 governorship election, urged supporters to remain calm and mobilize for the campaign flag-off rally, and expressed confidence in securing a resounding victory.
