You just aren’t gonna get more passionate announcers than Jack Michaels and Bob Stauffer on Edmonton Oilers radio. Michaels is as a good a white-knuckle play by play man as I’ve heard & nobody tells it as straight as Bob Stauffer. That was damn awesome.

RIP BOB HORNER Here’s John Sterling’s customary “it is high, it is far…” call of Bob Horner’s 3rd HR in his 4 HR game in 1986. Should also add that Ted Turner was of course team owner at the time & Bobby Cox was the team GM. Braves family has lost all 4 in a three week span.

Todd Snider died a few days ago. I like country music about as much as a hammer to the thumb, but Todd Snider was a different, brilliant character. Plus he has written inarguably the best song about Doc Ellis’ LSD no-no. It’s the only song I know that name drops Danny Murtaugh.
