News Release PDP Pays Condolence Visit to Tukur’s Family, Lamido and Governor Earlier today, the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party paid condolence visits to the family of our late former National Chairman, Alh. (Dr.) Bamanga Tukur, at the Tukur Lodge, Yola; the Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa, at the Lamido’s Palace; and the Governor of Adamawa State, His Excellency, Ahmadu Fintiri, at the Governor’s Office, Yola. In his message of condolence, the Chairman of the Interim National Working Committee, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, said: “According to the Quran, every person who lives will die and go to the great beyond. So, Baba Tukur has gone the way of all mortals. We do not mourn his death because all humans will die, but we are pained by the loss of his presence and the concomitant virtues he graciously exuded all through his life, in both private and public engagements. “Our visit is in recognition of the great legacy he left, not just in Adamawa, old Gongola and Northern Nigeria, but also the impressionable footprints he left on the Nigerian business and political landscape. “As a party, we are deeply pained by his loss, and we are determined, now more than before, to ensure that the PDP, of which the late icon was one of its founding fathers, remains true to its ideals and is not diluted or compromised.” In his response, Hon. Awwal Tukur, son of the late party chairman and the Secretary to the Adamawa State Government, welcomed the party delegation and expressed his appreciation for the visit. He said “I welcome you to our home, and I thank you for taking the trouble to come for this visit. For Chairman Turaki, this is his home, and I have known him as a brother. Apart from being the National Chairman, you have been a son of Baba, which is why I have called you my elder brother for over three decades. “Baba took you as a son, and you took him as a father. Today, he is gone, but his legacy lives on. He elegantly bestrode the professional, social, economic and administrative spaces, leaving a great impact in his wake. “I am happy that, despite all the troubles, the PDP still remains the only legacy party in this country. I say so with pride, knowing the efforts and resources expended, and the risks undertaken, to birth the party. “I had a first-hand experience, since my late father was one of the founding fathers of the party. I am sure that, even in death, Baba will be happy to see that his party came to pay him a visit.” At the Government House, while receiving the party delegation, the Governor of Adamawa State, His Excellency, Ahmadu Fintiri, appreciated the leadership of the party for the visit. He said “Your visit to Adamawa today to offer your condolences is one which I, on behalf of the government and people of Adamawa State, appreciate greatly. We have lost a father and a shining light, but we trust that Allah (SWT) will grant him Aljannah Firdausi and comfort all of us who are grieving.” At the palace of the Lamido, the entourage, led by Turaki, SAN, was received by the Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa, who welcomed and appreciated the leadership of the party for coming to the palace to pay its condolences. The Lamido described the deceased, Alh. (Dr.) Bamanga Tukur, who held the prestigious traditional title of Tafidan Adamawa, as a very respected son who brought honour, respect and recognition to the kingdom. He said his death was a huge loss, the impact of which would linger for a long time. He prayed for Allah to forgive the sins of the deceased and grant him Aljannah Firdausi.

After Voting, Leave the Rest for Me Wike to APC Supporters The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Official PDP Nigeria has taken note of a viral video in which the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, was seen addressing supporters of the All Progressives Congress at a polling unit, openly boasting that after voting, they should “leave the rest” for him. This statement is deeply disturbing. It conveys a troubling mindset and suggests a clear intent to interfere with, manipulate, or unduly influence the electoral process. Such conduct is unacceptable in a democratic society and constitutes a direct threat to the credibility and integrity of elections. At a time when Nigerians expect transparency, neutrality, and strict adherence to democratic norms especially from public office holders this utterance falls far below the standards expected of a serving minister of the Federal Republic. The PDP therefore calls on the Independent National Electoral Commission to take immediate notice of this undemocratic statement and to unequivocally dissociate itself from any individual or action capable of compromising the credibility of the electoral process. INEC must reassure Nigerians through decisive action that it remains committed to conducting free, fair, and credible elections. Democracy must be protected, and no one regardless of position or influence should be allowed to undermine the will of the people. BREAKING: #Ibadan2025 - PDP Northern Stakeholders Endorse Former Minister Tanimu Turaki as Consensus Candidate for National Chairman. In a landmark development, Northern stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Official PDP Nigeria have formally endorsed Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, as the consensus candidate for the position of National Chairman. The decision, emerging from intensive consultations at the just concluded Northern PDP stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, the group unanimously presented Turaki as a unified front ahead of party’s 2025 elective national convention scheduled for November 15-16 in Ibadan, Oyo State. The endorsement follows a weekend gathering of Northern PDP leaders, where the chairmanship slot was zoned to the North-West geopolitical zone to promote regional balance and party cohesion.

This modern facility, located in Ibadan, will serve as a key hub for party operations, strategy, unity, and grassroots mobilization in the state. The ceremony includes handing over the property to the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) as custodians of party assets, with attendance expected from NWC members, BoT, Oyo State executives, stakeholders, dignitaries, and party faithful across the country. Green Africa Makes Maiden Flight to Ibadan, Commences Ibadan-Lagos Route for N6,500 Only. Earlier today, Green Africa Airways made its maiden flight to Ibadan Airport, following the recent upgrades and other infrastructural improvements made in the airport by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, . The airline is expected to commence flight operations between Ibadan to Lagos with just N6,500 (Six Thousand, Five Hundred Naira Only), in other to reduce traffic congestion on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. This development is among several efforts of the Oyo State Government under Governor Makinde, who has been working tirelessly since the inception of his administration to make live comfortable for citizens and residents of the state and Nigerians in general. The Governor has also outlined plans to expand the airport, in addition to the existing construction and expansion of the airport road in his #Omituntun2.0 agenda.

“We are Returning power to you the people” - Official PDP Nigeria Chairman Turaki Declares After Meeting Obasanjo. The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, today reiterated his adminsitration’s commitment to return power to the people in the determination of critical issues in the party. He also assured of the party’s readiness to secure victories in key South-West states. Speaking to Party members and supporters at the party's state Secretariat shortly after returning from a visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Chairman Turaki affirmed that the PDP is on a definitive path to reclaim its dominant political position, starting with upcoming elections in Ekiti and Osun States in 2026. Turaki highlighted the widespread grassroots mobilization and renewed unity within the party as the driving forces behind the expected electoral success. “Let me assure all our members and the good people of the South-West: We will win Ekiti, we will win Osun, and we are not stopping there. By the special grace of God and the unwavering support of our people, we will take over Ogun State,” Turaki stated emphatically. He thanked the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, for his invaluable counsel during their meeting, which he noted has further energized the party leadership and reinforced its strategic focus on reclaiming power. The National Chairman stressed that the PDP’s vision for the South-West is centered on responsible governance, economic revival, and the delivery of democratic dividends to the populace, which he believes the ruling party has failed to provide. “Nigerians are tired of the current trajectory and are ready to return to the PDP," Turaki added. He reiterated the party's commitment to ensuring internal democracy is fully restored to the party in order to provide Nigerians a credible, formidable alternative to the ruling party in all future elections.
