Oromo bandits are destroying businesses in Moyale, including gas stations. This has only fueled my suspicions that the chaos in Moyale is being sponsored from outside. We have seen truckloads of armed men arriving daily from other parts of Oromia to participate in the looting and destruction. The bandits responsible must understand that these properties do not belong exclusively to the Somali people. They serve the entire community of Moyale. Destroying a gas station that benefits the whole city only hurts the very people who depend on it.

A racist man in Finland filmed himself following an elderly Somali woman on the street while verbally harassing and insulting her on camera. Like many of these bullies, they deliberately target those they perceive as vulnerable and alone. Incidents like those seen in Ireland are a reminder that this kind of harassment can happen anywhere. Muslim men should learn self-defense, stay physically fit, and remain attentive to the safety of their elders, children, and the women in their families whenever they are out in public.

Oromia Special Forces are going door to door in the town of Chamuq, looting civilian properties before setting them ablaze. The city of Moyale, in Ethiopia’s Somali Region, borders #Kenya. There are growing concerns that the violence could spill across the border into Kenya if the attacks by Oromia forces are left unaddressed by the Ethiopian federal government.

The Ethiopian Army has a much larger pool of manpower to draw from. The TPLF does not and has had to rely on conscription within Tigray to replenish its ranks. The Tigray Peace Force (TPF) is now challenging that base. Without Eritrean intervention to reinforce the TPLF, growing war fatigue and frustration among Tigrayans could drive more military-aged men in Tigray to join the TPF, further depleting the TPLF’s already strained manpower base.
