A racist man in Finland filmed himself following an elderly Somali woman on the street while verbally harassing and insulting her on camera. Like many of these bullies, they deliberately target those they perceive as vulnerable and alone. Incidents like those seen in Ireland are a reminder that this kind of harassment can happen anywhere. Muslim men should learn self-defense, stay physically fit, and remain attentive to the safety of their elders, children, and the women in their families whenever they are out in public.

This aerial footage of Djibouti’s capital city is trending on Somali social media, drawing attention to the city’s growing slums in an alarming rate. The Djiboutian government earns around $300 million annually from leasing bases to foreign militaries, in addition to $1.5 billion from Ethiopia in port and transport fees, with the Addis-Djibouti railway generating millions more in revenue. Many Somalis are now questioning whether this money meant to develop the city of #Djibouti is instead being misused by President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh to exert influence over Somali politicians and destabilize Somalia.
