Rhaenyra made the most perfect deal to Laenor and nobody talks about it. The "goose vs duck" choice. Marry me publicly. You gets to live your life. I get heirs with Velaryon blood. Both houses stay strong. The realm stays united behind Viserys' chosen heir. That deal could've prevented the Dance. Think about it: *1. Her claim gets ironclad. Strong boys with Velaryon looks, a Targaryen name. No more "bastard" rumors sticking. The lords who swore to her in 105 AC have zero reason to doubt. *2. The Velaryons stay 100% hers. Corlys and Rhaenys have no reason to hedge bets. Driftmark, the fleet & their political weight all stay behind Rhaenyra. *3. The Hightowers lose their main talking point "The children aren’t trueborn." Boom. Gone. War justification gone too. All Laenor had to do was try & hit it once in two years. Give her 1-2 heirs just to secure the line. Then go back to Ser Qarl. One awkward royal duty. Two years. And maybe Westeros doesn’t burn for the next 20. Instead we got war, dragons dying, and 2 sides tearing the realm apart... all because Laenor refused to make a simple sacrifice. Was Rhaenyra too ahead of her time, or was the deal doomed from the start?

Everyone remembers Achilles vs Hector. But nobody talks about how it ended. Achilles: Spent 10 years fighting for glory. Killed Hector and dragged his body through the dirt out of rage. Hector: Died defending his city and family. Paris: The guy who started the war by stealing Helen... killed Achilles with ONE arrow to the heel 💀 Achilles died for ego. Hector died for duty. Paris "won" by hiding and sniping.

Rhaenys had an exit. Meleys was faster. She could've turned and run. Instead she looked up at Vhagar and said: "Attack." She chose to fight. 1v2. Outnumbered. Out-sized. Meleys vs Sunfyre AND Vhagar. So the question is... Did Rhaenys truly believe she could win? Or was that the moment the Queen Who Never Was decided she was done running? She spent her whole life being passed over for the throne. Maybe she wasn't trying to survive Rook's Rest. Maybe she was trying to _decide_ how her story ended. Either way. That was the bravest and most reckless choice in HOTD so far. What do you think? Did she think she could take them, or did she already know how it ends?

The best scene in S1 that nobody talks about enough.* Robert, Barristan, and Jaime telling war stories. This was King Robert's peak moment and the Lannisters suffered the most of it lol. By the way, what's that look from Sir Barristan lol. My guess, he didn't like telling tales of killing people. Or he was still angry that he fought for both sides. Man's a legend. Kingsguard to 3 different kings. Fought in Robert’s Rebellion. Survived the Trident. Sad he never got much screen time.

In the end, there was no point for this. His resurrection served no great purpose in the show. All that "the prince that was promised" they kept parroting throughout the show was just noise. One of the biggest narrative letdowns in the later seasons of Game of Thrones. Dude should have stayed dead imo😒

Corlys: "Laenor will marry Rhaenyra. We’ll be close to the crown." Rhaenys: "...and close to the funeral pyres too." She saw it the second he said it. A political marriage. A reluctant groom. A queen with secrets. That’s not an alliance. That’s a fuse. Rhaenys knew the Dance was coming the day Corlys sold his son for a throne he’d never sit. Fore-foreknowledge. Queen Who Never Was energy. Corlys played cyvasse. Rhaenys saw the board was on fire.

"Truth or Dare" is such a dangerous game. Shouldn't be played by best friends.
