Watching Rufai Oseni press HE Peter Obi on how he would handle the naira-to-dollar situation differently from what we have today was a moment. Obi’s answer was not the usual political promise of “I will force the rate down” or “I will reverse everything.” He said he would keep the floating of the naira but would not defend it the old way. Instead, he would drive productivity so the naira becomes more valuable on its own. Even Rufai looked shocked. I was more shocked. Most politicians sell easy answers. Obi gave a harder one: stop the artificial defense that drains reserves and focus on making Nigeria produce more so the currency has real value. It sounded strange at first because we are used to campaign talk that ignores basic economics. But the more I sit with it, the clearer it becomes. The man is positively different.

The arrest of this young man by the DSS simply for mobilizing support for Peter Obi is shameful. Peaceful political campaigning is not a crime. Carrying an NDC flag and urging people to support a candidate ahead of 2027 is a constitutional right, not a security threat. When the DSS is deployed against young Nigerians for supporting Peter Obi instead of focusing on real threats like banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism, it sends a clear message: the state is more interested in silencing political opposition than protecting citizens. This is intimidation, not law enforcement. Democracy dies when supporting a candidate becomes grounds for arrest. Release him immediately. Nigerians will not be cowed.

“Peter Obi is the most acceptable candidate for the 2027 general election among Nigerians, especially young people. No other candidate comes close to him. The 2027 election is about vote protection, and we are determined to protect every vote.” — NDC National Chairman tells Nigerians.

“Since I left Anambra State as Governor, the state hasn’t even bought me a bottle of pure water. The only ‘thank you’ I have received for my service has been insults and accusations.” — Peter Obi, speaking at the Global Digital Town Hall.

Peter Obi took a moment during the live broadcast with Emir Sirdam to appreciate Queen, a beautiful Yoruba lady who has been using her platform to take his message across the Yoruba people. Thank you, Queen, for your courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to spreading the message of a New Nigeria. Your contribution to building bridges and inspiring people across ethnic lines will never be forgotten. History will be kind to you, Queen. This is Remi Tinubu’s convoy in Anambra an unelected official. This is exactly the kind of waste of public resources Peter Obi has consistently spoken against. At a time when Nigerians are battling hunger, insecurity and economic hardship, cities are locked down and hundreds of security personnel deployed for one visit. Nigeria deserves better priorities. Public resources should serve the people, not VIP convoys.
