We opposed many of the federal public health policies promoted during the pandemic and pursued a different approach for the state. When elected Governor, I will ask Dr. Ladapo to continue serving as Florida's Surgeon General. Byron Donalds has said he would evaluate whether to retain him (and we know what that means), while David Jolly has bragged he would fire him. In my administration, Dr. Ladapo will continue to follow the science and not the groupthink that characterized the COVID era.

When Florida was fighting Amendment 4, the radical abortion amendment, I stood shoulder to shoulder with Governor Ron DeSantis to stop it. Byron Donalds didn’t stand with us. Instead, he was calling abortion a “medical procedure” while we were doing the work to defeat one of the most dangerous pro-abortion measures Florida has ever seen.
