I am absolutely devastated about the attack on Helen Haines. Australians can disagree but must never accept violence and threats. The Prime Minister wants to lecture everyone about “turning down the temperature”. Well he can start by abolishing his dirt unit that was trying to undermine Helen. I’ve heard you on the Lambie video. The cartoons have my name on it so it’s my responsibility and we will be taking that joke out given it’s a sensitive medical issue for her.

Labor: 507 advisers. More than 4 each. Albanese alone: 59. Liberals & Greens: 1.5 each. One Nation: only 0.8 We have an independent board that sets wages for politicians, why not the same for how many staff they get? The Flydubai co-pilot who tried to hijack a plane and crash it into Tel Aviv started going off the rails into radicalisation while he was in Melbourne on an international student visa. UAE prosecutors say he got mixed up with people connected to an Australian Islamic centre called My Centre. That same centre later got more than $68,000 of Australian taxpayers’ money from the Labor government. In the Senate I asked a simple question: did anyone bother to check with ASIO or the Federal Police before handing over that cash? Did the minister or his department even do a Google search or look at the Facebook pages of these organisations before giving them taxpayer money? The minister wouldn’t give a straight answer. One Nation did a simple google search and found dozens of extreme Islamic hatred posts from the organisation. Australians deserve to know whether this government is doing even the most basic checks before it funnels hundreds of millions of dollars into multicultural groups and risks funding terrorism. Obviously, this government doesn't care. They're more interested in bribing radical Islamists with taxpayer money.

Visiting the Bell Bay smelter in Tasmania with Barnaby, it’s clear Australia has the capacity to stand on our own two feet. But Labor government in Canberra is getting in the way. Chris Bowen especially is taxing our productive industries out of existence and subsidising useless ones. Australia has everything we need to be self reliant, it’s just going to take a bit of leadership and vision.

Whoops! Prime Minister Albanese has accidentally exposed Labor’s real censorship agenda. He has now confirmed that the new social media “Digital Duty of Care” scheme is nothing more than a back-door attempt to resurrect Labor’s rejected Misinformation and Disinformation Bill, while boasting about it overseas to his elite globalist friends. That’s despite his own Minister for Travel Expenses and Grand Final Rorts, Anika Wells, who also doubles as Labor’s Minister for Censorship, assuring Australians just two weeks ago that it “isn’t about misinformation”. Australians are supposed to believe one story at home while Labor tells a completely different story overseas. In his own words, Albanese admits these powers are being sold under the banner of “child safety” today, while laying the groundwork for much broader controls on speech and public debate tomorrow. If there was ever any doubt that this legislation is a Trojan horse, the Prime Minister has just all but removed it. Most revealing of all, Albanese has explicitly linked the need for new censorship powers to the rise of One Nation, declaring that “People are moving away from the centre and more and more to the extremes”. In other words, Australians are abandoning Labor in growing numbers, rejecting the political establishment, and Labor's response is not to listen to them, but to seek new powers to police online debate and suppress criticism. This is what governments do when they are losing the argument. They stop defending their record and start looking for ways to control the conversation. The truth is Labor cannot tolerate Australians questioning its failures on the cost of living, housing, energy prices, migration and government waste. Instead of fixing the problems it created, it wants new powers to manage what Australians can see, hear and say online. There appears to be no limit to how far this desperate Labor Government will go to protect its grip on power. Albanese should scrap this censorship scheme immediately, stop grandstanding overseas, and get back home to deal with the crises Australians are living through every day.

Journalist Michael Shellenberger says a meeting with two government staffers at Australia’s Parliament House exposed what he sees as a troubling lack of understanding about proposed censorship legislation. According to Shellenberger, the staffers argued the government needed greater powers to censor violent content online, including footage relating to the upcoming execution of Nidal Hasan. When he questioned why such material should be censored, he says the justification shifted to concerns about "copycat" violence, but staffers struggled to explain how the proposed powers would be applied consistently. Shellenberger also claims the staffers were unaware the bill could allow government agencies to operate anonymous bot accounts and conduct online information campaigns. Despite being presented with concerns about provisions they had not previously considered, he says they stressed that the government intended to proceed with the legislation regardless. He argues the proposed laws would grant broad powers to censor content depicting violent events, including material that may be newsworthy and in the public interest. Shellenberger believes this creates a significant risk of political misuse and reduced transparency. "The most alarming part," Shellenberger said, "was watching people defend a bill they appeared not to have read, while insisting it was necessary."
