🚨64 babies were victims of rape and sexual abuse in daycare centers in Amsterdam; one of these centers was located near a distribution point for child pornography linked to the "Zandvoort network." The Dutch judicial system had been aware of a network producing images of babies being raped in daycare centers since the revelations made by Marcel Vervloesem in document 8257/01, filed on March 14, 2001, with the court in Neufchâteau. Vervloesem reported information shared with him by Robert Jan Warmerdam—a transsexual individual active in Amsterdam’s sadomasochistic scene—who was an acquaintance of Marc Dutroux. On one occasion, Jan Warmerdam met with Dutroux to discuss the kidnapping of six girls and the murder of four of them; Dutroux told him about a daycare center that lacked video surveillance, where babies were drugged and sexually exploited. The Dutch judicial system reopened the case of Robert Mikelson, an 18-year-old Latvian man who, in September 2002, was placed in a preschool in Heidelberg, Germany, through an EU-funded project. His contract ended in June 2003, when he was arrested for the possession and distribution of child pornography. After receiving a one-year suspended prison sentence, he moved to Amsterdam. Mikelson lived with Richard Van Olffen—an associate of the organization "Martijn"—who worked as a bus driver and managed thirty websites featuring sadistic child pornography. Between 2004 and 2006, Mikelson was employed by the "Community School" (Escuela Comunitaria), which was renamed "Het Hofnarretje" between February 2007 and June 2008. In August 2008, two mothers accused him of sexually abusing their two-and-a-half-year-old babies by engaging in acts involving their genitals. The lawyer allowed Mikelson to flee to Kenya, where, starting in the autumn of 2008, he worked at an orphanage in Nairobi that housed 17 children and provided food for 60 street children. The Netherlands closed the case based on the opinion of an expert psychologist who deemed the children’s accounts not credible. Mikelson returned to Amsterdam and, between October 2009 and January 2010, worked at the “Jenno’s Knuffelparadijs” daycare center—located at 74 Admiraal Ruyterweg, just a short distance from one of Zandvoort’s child pornography studios. He offered his services as a babysitter at very low rates. However, an arrest request from the United States achieved more than the European Union had in 22 years. Dutch authorities ordered the arrest of Robert Mikelson on December 7, 2010, yet gave his husband, Richard Van Olffen, four days to wipe the data from their computers. The media refer to him as “the monster of Riga,” without explaining why it took them 12 years to express outrage over the images of infants being raped found in the Zandvoort archive. Meanwhile, in Belgium and the Netherlands, activists discovered that the leads pointed to a much darker network. Manuel was abducted and taken to child brothels in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. But the most terrifying account points to the yacht "Apollo". According to testimonies and Dutch intelligence, the boy was abused and murdered on that sailboat while being filmed—a real-life snuff film. His body was thrown into the sea, and the yacht was cleaned at a military port. The yacht was linked to Gerrit Ulrich, a figure implicated in the Zandvoort scandal (1998). After his death, police found thousands of images and videos depicting extreme child abuse—including of infants—along with client lists from various countries. One of the people investigating this connection was Gina Pardaens-Bernaer, a Belgian social worker. Her work led her to the Zandvoort material. She sent copies to Interpol. She received threats. Her son was struck by a vehicle. In November 1998, she stated: "With what I’ve discovered, either Belgium explodes, or I get murdered." The next day, her car was found wrecked against a bridge, with no skid marks. Police ruled it an accident. Hours later, her lawyer's office was raided. Gina died. Her case joins the list of suspicious deaths linked to these investigations. Manuel’s case is directly connected to the Dutroux case. The same networks. The same accusations of institutional protection. The same suspicions that influential people were involved and that investigations were halted when they pointed too high. Authorities never thoroughly investigated the connections to the yacht *Apollo* or to Zandvoort. Dutch police claimed they found nothing. German police closed the case without connecting the dots. And yet, the documents exist. Dutch intelligence files speak of a German boy murdered on a boat and a cover-up because "influential people were on board." Testimonies detail specific events and names. Gina Pardaens claimed to possess a copy of the snuff film. That copy vanished after her death. Thirty-two years later, Manuel Schadwald remains missing. There is no justice. This case is not just the story of a boy who disappeared. It is the story of how a child abuse network operated for years in Europe with impunity. How investigations stalled when they came too close to power.
