A total of 10,000 Probationer Police Constables, who have undergone a nine month of initial police training at Police Training School Kabalye in Masindi and Police Training School Ikafe in Yumbe, are today set to graduate. The pass-out marks the successful completion of their training and their readiness to commence service in the Uganda Police Force.

Today October 18, 2024, at at around 11:55 AM, our traffic police officer from Jinja Road Police Station attempted to stop a white Toyota Land Cruiser (reg. No. UBM 439T) driven by a MERCY TIMBITWIRE BASHISHA who had allegedly caused an accident. Despite his signals, the motorist is said to have refused to stop and continued driving while using her phone. After catching up at Lugogo Traffic Lights, it is alleged that she parked at the Uganda Manufacturers Association and locked her vehicle. Our officer asked for her driving permit. she is said to have resorted to intimidation of the officer and later assaulted him. She went further to confiscate the police EPS gadget two phones belonging to the police officer. She is currently under detention as investigations are being conducted.

. Kituuma Rusoke "On Sunday July 6, 2025, we registered the murder of Mr. Mutaaga David and his wife, Deborah Florence Mutaaga in Entebbe. In collaboration with other security agencies, the police are actively searching for the suspects and gathering evidence. We have obtained a recording of the suspect’s voice and urge anyone who recognizes it to come forward and help identify the individual. A reward of fifty million shillings (UGX 50,000,000/=) been offered by Uganda Police to anyone who provides information leading to the suspect's apprehension. Owoyesigyire The Territorial Police in Kampala Metropolitan East and Nagalama Division yesterday, 13th November 2025, arraigned Wamala Hakim, a 41-year-old male adult, resident of Kalagi Village, Kyampisi Subcounty in Mukono District, before the Nakifuma Chief Magistrate’s Court on charges of Incitement to Violence and Misuse of Social Media. The charges stem from a TikTok video the suspect allegedly recorded and shared on 9th November 2025 through his account @hakiqualitypropertyandconstruction, in which he is seen uttering statements intended to incite members of the public to engage in acts of violence using dangerous weapons such as pangas and spears. He was also charged with Misuse of Social Media for allegedly spreading false and malicious information claiming that Presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, was in danger , an act that was likely to incite fear and provoke unlawful actions among members of the public. The accused appeared before the Nakifuma Chief Magistrate’s Court where he was formally charged . He has been remanded pending further mention of his case. We wish to remind members of the public that the misuse of social media platforms to spread falsehoods or incite violence is a criminal offence under Ugandan law. The Uganda Police Force continues to monitor online activities and will take firm action against individuals who misuse digital spaces to threaten public peace and safety.

#PRESSRELEASE | On September 18, 2023, a whistleblower cited and recorded the actions of the drivers of two vehicles: M/V Registration Number UG 0120Q (Hilux) driven by Bukenya Steven and M/V Registration Number UP 4911 (Land Cruiser) driven by Sabiti Dan. These drivers were observed driving recklessly along Ntinda Stretcher Road. Based on the compelling evidence captured in the shared video, both drivers were promptly charged, arrested, and detained at Jinja Road Police Station, under Ref.TSD 16/19/09/23 and TSD 17/19/09/23, pending their court appearance. We extend our commendation to all whistleblowers who take the initiative to capture and share such vital videos. We encourage them to persist in these efforts until we witness improved road safety. Furthermore, we issue a stern warning to all drivers who engage in reckless behavior, contributing to road congestion and danger. Remember, road safety is a collective responsibility.
