Sanborn. “The shepherds of the Church, our bishops and priests, are appointed to guide us to salvation; let us honor them with our obedience and prayers.”

A wealth of indulgences may be gained today and tomorrow for the souls in Purgatory. “The faithful, as often as they visit a church or public oratory, or even a semi-public oratory (if they may lawfully use the same), in order to pray for the dead on the day on which the commemoration of all the faithful departed is celebrated or on the Sunday immediately following may gain: a plenary indulgence, applicable only to the souls detained in Purgatory, on condition of confession and communion, and the recitation six times during each visit of our father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be, for the intentions of the Sovereign Pontiff.” -Raccolta #allsoulsday

In times of suffering and sorrow, how blessed are we to imitate our crucified Savior, Jesus Christ. How few Christians truly exult in the cross. On this feast of the Exultation of the Holy Cross, let us pick up our cross with courage and joy, for in the cross is our eternal glory. “How few there are who love thee as they ought, O Cross of Christ! The world still persecuteth thee; it blusheth to bear thee; it hideth thee from its eyes. But thou art the joy of the elect; thou art the glory of the martyrs; thou art the strength of the saints. In the day of judgment, thou wilt be the standard under which the just will rally, and by which they will be known." -Liturgical Year #spirituallife #JoyInChrist
